The Early Clinical Career Fellowships are an opportunity for highly enthusiastic, talented and motivated nurses and midwives to develop personally, professionally and academically at an early stage in their career.

3 year fellowships with funded study leave.

Senior Charge Nurse Framework – Leading Better Care

Leading Better Care establishes a national role framework for seniorcharge nurses (SCNs) working in hospital settings across NHS Scotland. The revised SCN role clearly defines a number of key roles, which includeensuring that SCNs are visible and accessible to patients and their carers.It also empowers SCNs to be clinical leaders and guardians of safety andquality in their area.

The SCN role consists of 4 key areas:

1. Enhancing patients experience

2. Managing and developing the performance of the team

3. Contributing to the delivery of the organisations objectives

4. Ensuring safe and effective clinical practice

• A national initiative supporting the development of AHPs working at advanced practice level involved in the delivery of MSK services and those aspiring to this role

• Advanced practitioners are experienced professionals who have developed their skills and theoretical knowledge to a very high level which is supported by evidence. They perform a highly complex role and continually develop practice.

• Advanced practitioners work at level 7 on the Career Framework for Health

• The AHP Career Fellowship Scheme exists to support learning and development opportunities for the benefit of the AHP workforce across NHSScotland.

• AHP Careers Fellowship Scheme produces a quarterly newsletter which can be downloaded from the NES website
