Before You Begin Soft Top Installation:Congratulations on your purchase of theQuadraTop! This high quality soft top is designed to provide years of protectionfrom whatever nature can throw at you!We have used only the finest materialsin creating this soft top but like anyproduct that is exposed to the elements,there is some general maintenance thatis required to keep your QuadraToplooking like new. Please see page 14for these important maintenance tips aswell as page 15 for available hardwarecomponents that may have been lost orworn over the years.

Thank you again for your purchase andlet’s start the installation process!

When unpacking, check to make sure allparts are included. If any part is missing or broken, please call Quadratec Customer Service at 800-745-6037as soon as possible.

For a smooth fit and ease of installation, this top should be installedat temperatures above 72 degrees. Below this temperature, the fabricmay contract an inch or more making it difficult to install. We highlyrecommend taking the top out of the package and letting it sit insidea warm place or direct sunlight for 1-2 hours before you install the top.When warm, this top will install quickly.

Please also note that it is normal for fabric to contract and wrinklewhen stored in the shipping carton. In a few days the fabric will relaxand wrinkles will disappear.

Soft Top Removal: If no previous soft top is present, skip to page 5

Step 1A: Remove Existing Top FabricRemove your existing Soft top Fabric.After verifying that you have the correctfactory original bow system and hard-ware, remove the existing soft top fromthe vehicle. This process will entail re-moving all Quarter windows, unscrew-ing the top from the rear bows andremoving the fabric from the windshieldheader by unscrewing 19 or 27 header

screws (Depending on model year). SeeStep 1b on next page for proper removalof header fabric. Make sure you keep allscrews and fasteners in a safe placeafter removal. You will be using themagain later in the installation.

See Figs 1, 2, 3 & 4. Once the soft top isremoved, inspect all of your hardware tomake sure no parts are bent or missing.

Step 1B: Remove Existing Top FabricDetach your old Soft Top Fabric fromthe Header. For Model Years 2010-2018Only: You will need to peel back thecorner foam and unscrew the cableattachment on both ends of the headerusing a T-15 Torx.

For Model Years 2007-2009 Only:You will need to peel back the foamand remove the two corner screwsthat hold a plastic mounting flangelocated in the same vicinity.See Figs 5, 6, 7 & 8.

Soft Top Installation:

The following header installation will be easier to accomplish with thehelp of another person. This step will most likely be the most difficultstep in the install and you should take your time. The easiest way toinstall this header is standing on the front seats facing forward.

We suggest placing a towel or cover on the seats to protect them fromdirt and debris from your shoes. Once the soft top header fabric isinstalled in the factory header, the remaining installation should bevery straight forward.


Step 3: Center New Fabric onWindshield Header with Tape Slide the sewn in extrusion along thefront edge of the top into the channel ofthe lower header that is secured to thewindshield in step one (See Fig 11).

Locate and line up the center notch inthe middle of the fabric to the center ofthe channel centering the fabric on thelower header. Secure the fabric aroundthe center notch with masking tape.See Fig 12.

Step 2: Install the New Top Fabricto the Windshield Header With the old top completely removedand the top header plate unscrewedfrom the lower header, raise the bowassembly and lock the header to thewindshield (See Fig 9).

As seen in Fig 10, drape the soft topfabric backing side up over the hoodand the windshield and locate the frontextrusion sewn into the front header ofthe Top. Locate the masking tape andhave it ready for step 3.

Once centered, use a heavy maskingtape on each side of the notch tohold in place.

Step 4: Secure Top in Lower Header Working from the center out, secure thetop in the lower header channel withmasking tape holding it in place forinstalling the top plate to the lowerheader. Use 5-6 pieces of tape to holdthe top in place. Note: The tape pieceswill be completely covered when the topplate is put back on the lower header.See Figs 13, 14 & 15.

Step 5: Reassemble Lower Header Close the upper header over the tapeddown fabric sandwiching the fabric butleaving the underside faced up on thehood (See Fig 16). Using the screws youremoved in step one, reinstall the fourcorner screws and then the 19 or 27(depending on model year) screws alongthe top of the header. See Figs 17 & 18.Un-latch the bow assembly from thewindshield (inside vehicle) and lowerthe bow assembly to the rear of thevehicle folding the top back over withthe underside of the fabric facing down(see Fig 19).

Step 6: Header Corner PocketsSlip the corner pocket sewn into the topbetween the header and position thecable anchors over the two holes withthe cable facing the outside of theheader (Fig 20 & 21).

Step 7: Install Header FoamLocate the Header foam packet andattach foam over the installed cableanchors on each side of the header.Install the small “strip” foam onthe front of the header as shownin Fig 22.

Step 8: Drape the Top FabricDrape the top fabric over the cab rein-stalling and securing the bow assemblyabove the door. The front header shouldbe resting on the windshield but notattached/clamped and the top fabricshould be laid back but not attachedto the rear bows. See Fig 23

Step 9: For JK 2-Door Vehicles - Securing the Cable Spring

Locate the Cable spring hanging out ofthe top behind the rear seat next to therear vertical door surrounds. Fold backthe front header to reduce the side cabletension. On some models the rearbracket where the cable spring is to beattached is exposed or under a fabricsleeve. With the front header tensionreleased, attach the spring to thebracket and using a set of pliers,

crimp the spring end closed so it cannotbe easily slipped off (see call out on Figs26 & 27 ). For some later JK models thebracket is encased in a plastic “tube”.

As shown in Figs 24-27, slip the cablespring through the “tube” and attachit to the top bracket and using a set ofpliers, crimp the spring end closed so itcannot be easily slipped off.

We have enclosed new fabric covers to cover the attached springmechanism. These can be used on 2 door JK vehicles to cover thespring or on later model year vehicles if the plastic"tube" is damagedduring original soft top removal.

Step 10: Reinstall Center Bow ScrewsFlip the rear of the top forward exposingthe center Bow. Install the hook & loopFlap that attach the center bow.

(Bow #1 over the sound bar).See Fig 28

Step 12: Secure Rear CornersWith all the bows attached to the top,and the front header folded back towardthe rear of the vehicle, gently pull down

on the rear bow while securing the rearcorners into the retainers on the vehicle.See Figs 31 & 32

Step 11: Reinstall Rear Bow ScrewsWith the front header unattached, pullon the fabric towards the rear of the ve-hicle providing tension on the frontheader (Header should be pulled upabout 20-30 degrees) and re-install the4 screws through the rear bow fabric toBow #2 using the screws you previouslyremoved from your original top.

Note that there will not be holes in therear bow fabric/Tabs. You will need topunch the screws through the fabrickeeping the top tight while installing.On some models the straps may have towrap around the opposite side of thebow. Regardless, the bow straps shouldbe tight. See Figs 29 & 30.

On some Tops the rear bow flap is one piece.The Pictures in FIGS 29 & 30 shows the rear bow flap as "tabs".

If there are small "puckers" that form on the rear seam after the frontheader is secured, we suggest unscrewing and reinstalling the rearbow screws after Step 19 with the rear window installed.

Step 13: Secure Top Front to WindshieldWith the cable spring installed, withtwo people (one on each side of theheader) fold down the header to thewindshield and close the front headerlatches to secure the front of the topto the windshield. See Figs 33-35.

Please Note: With the rear cornersattached the first time you fold downthe front header it will be EXTREMELYTIGHT. This is normal. We highly rec-ommend that two people fold down theheader simultaneously. This will preventdamage to the hardware system.

The leading edge of the soft top must be secured to prevent the lossof the top at speed. Latches must be fully closed and free of mudand other contamination. Do not use top if either latch is damaged.


Step 14: Attach Quarter Window ZippersAttach the quarter window zippersby starting the zipper on the quarter

window and zipping it closed 2-3 inches. Repeat this on the other sideof the vehicle. See figs 36 & 37.

Step 15: Front of Quarter WindowsAttach the front of the quarter windowsalong the front edge of the vertical doorsurround by rolling the plastic into the

slot on the door surround. Repeat on theopposite side of the top.See Figs 38 & 39.

Step 16: Secure The Bottomsof the Quarter WindowsRoll the bottom of the quarterwindow into the retainer channelon the vehicle and then close thequarter window zipper the rest ofthe way. Close up the hook and loopfasteners around the zippers.See Figs 40, 41, & 42.

Step 17: Elastic Window Roll StrapsSnap the elastic window roll strapson the rear bow above the rear windowopening as shown.

These handy straps can be used tosecure your rear window when rolledup. See Figs 43 & 44

Step 18: Prepare Rear WindowLocate the rear window and place it ona soft surface with the backing side up.Take the factory bar removed in stepone and orient the “C“ Channel withthe round seal facing down and slidethe “C” Channel onto the rear window

retainer as shown in Figs 45 & 46.After sliding the retainer all the waythrough the “C” Channel, roll the tail-gate bar into the mounts with the out-side of the fabric facing towards therear of the vehicle. See Figs 47 & 48.

Step 19: Secure Rear WindowsSecure the rear window zippers bypulling the two zipper sliders all theway down as far as possible in order tocatch the sliders on the zipper pin.Once the zipper is caught, raise the zip-per 1”-2”. Hold the top of the windowwith one hand and zip up the zipper allthe way with the other hand. Make surethat the tailgate bar is centered.

If the zippers have too much distancebetween the window and the top, slidethe rear corners around towards themiddle of the vehicle until the zipperscan be closed. See Figs 49 & 50. Tuckthe flaps under the window zippers intothe retainers to secure the rear window.See Figs 51 & 52.

When operating the vehicle with the quarter windows removed,the rear window should be rolled up and secured with theelastic straps or completely removed for proper ventilation.


Before Rolling up the rear window, make sure the glass is clean.Dirt and Debris can cause window scratches when rolled up.

Care and Maintenance:

Your QuadraTop is made of the finestmaterials available but to keep it look-ing new and for the maximum possiblewear, it will need periodic cleaning andbasic maintenance. The main threats toyour soft top are pollutants, dirt andgrime. By keeping your soft top cleanyou will prolong the life of your top.We recommend the following to keepyour top like new:

Washing: The soft top fabric should bewashed often using a mild soap, warmwater and a soft bristle brush (do notuse the brush on the window glass!).You can also use special soft top clean-ers available on our website and shownon page 15. Make sure that after clean-ing you rinse with clear water to removeall traces of soap.

Zippers: Keeping the zipper cleaned andlubricated with a silicone lubricant (seePage 15) will help prevent damage andkeep the zippers in a smooth workingcondition. If zipper opens behind theslider, the slider may have been spreadapart. This problem can usually be fixed

by using an ordinary pair of pliers tobring the sides back into parallel. Returnslider to the end of the zipper in the nor-mal Open position. Squeeze lightly at

first and test zipper. If the zipper contin-ues to remain open squeeze more firmlywith pliers and try the zipper again.Repeat procedure until your zipperoperates correctly.

Windows: It is very important that youkeep your QuadraTop windows clean!Use a mild soap and water solution togently clean your windows. NEVERwipe your windows clean with a drycloth! Dust and dirt on a dry cloth canscratch your windows causing “fog-ging” and permanent damage. When re-moving your windows, store them witha towel between the panels/rear win-dows to protect them from damage. Iffrost or ice forms on the outside of yourwindows during the winter, DO NOTuse an ice scraper to remove this frost.Over time you will see small microscratches in your windows which arenatural wear and tear. These Microscratches can be “polished” out usingthe window polish listed on page 15(Available at Quadratec.com).

Water/Fabric: In the event of seepingthrough the seams, 3M Scotchgard®

may be applied on the inside of theseams to stop the see . Rips in the fabricmay be repaired with Bondex® iron onpatches. Iron the patches to the Insideof the top, carefully following theBondex® instructions.

Snaps: Keep snaps cleaned and lubri-cated with silicone to help preventsnaps from sticking to the studs. If asnap does become stuck to a stud, use ascrewdriver and GENTLY pry apart toprevent permanent damage to the snapor the top fabric.

Quadratec Limited Warranty for QuadraTop® Replacement Soft Tops

Your QuadraTop® replacement soft top is coveredby the following Limited Warranty providedexclusively by Quadratec, Inc. 1028 SaundersLane, West Chester, PA 19380.

This Limited Warranty is the only warranty madein connection with purchase. Quadratec neitherassumes nor authorizes any vendor, retailer orother person or entity to assume for it any otherobligation or liability in connection with thisproduct or Limited Warranty.

What is Covered:Subject to the terms, exclusions and limitationsherein and with respect only to soft tops first soldin the United States, Quadratec warrants to theinitial retail purchaser only that your QuadraTopsoft top shall be free of defects in material andworkmanship for a period of 3 years from dateof initial retail sale.

All other warranties are hereby disclaimed, exceptto the extent prohibited by applicable law inwhich case any implied warranty of merchantabil-ity or fitness for a particular purpose on this prod-uct is limited to 3 years from date of initial retailsale. Quadratec reserves the rights to: (a.) requireinvoice or other proof your soft top is within theterms of this Limited Warranty as a condition ofwarranty service and, (b.) make future revisions tothis product and Limited Warranty without priornotice or obligation to upgrade your soft top.

What is Not Covered:Your Quadratec Limited Warranty does not coverproducts or parts Quadratec determines to havebeen damaged by or subjected to: (a.) installationdamage, alteration, modification, failure tomaintain or attempted repair or service by anyonenot authorized by Quadratec, (b.) normal wearand tear, cosmetic damage or damage fromwater immersion, (c.) Acts of God, accidents,misuse, negligence, inadequate mounting orimpact with vehicle(s), obstacles or other aspectsof the environment, (d.) theft, vandalism or otherintentional damage.

Remedy Limited to Repair/Replacement:The exclusive remedy provided hereunder shall,upon Quadratec inspection and at Quadratec’soption, be either repair or replacement of productor parts (new or refurbished) covered under thisLimited Warranty. Customers requesting warrantyconsideration on QuadraTop soft top should firstcontact Quadratec to obtain a RGA number(610-701-3336). All labor, removal, shipping andinstallation costs are customer’s responsibility.

Other Limitations - Exclusion of Damages- Your Rights Under State Law:In consideration of the purchase price paid,neither Quadratec nor any independent Quadratecdistributor/licensee are responsible for any timeloss, rental costs, or for any incidental, consequen-tial, punitive or other damages you may have orincur in connection with any part or productpurchased.
