PVES MUSIC DEPARTMENT Dear FOURTH GRADE Students, Parents and Guardians, May 1, 2012

Our Fourth Grade Spring Concert is quickly approaching. Please mark your calendar, if you have not done so already, for Thursday, May 24, 2012. There will be one performance during the school day for other grade levels, and one performance in the evening for parents.

Students should report to the Cafeteria at 6:30pm the night of the concert

Your child should be practicing his or her music at home each night, band and/or chorus. Chorus lyrics need to be memorized from the songbook provided.

It is very important that your child be in attendance at school that day as we will be having a performance for the school only at 2:00pm.

We will be having full rehearsals in school May 21, 22 and 23. See the attachment regarding concert dress. Sign the permission slip below, which indicates that you have reviewed

this letter and put the information on your calendar. Please return it to the classroom teacher.

Kindergarten Parents Only

May 3, 2012 Dear Kindergarten Parents, It is the time of year when we begin the placement process for next year. For our kindergarten parents this process it a little bit different since Childside is an option for our first graders. Childside is a first and second grade mixed age program that has existed at PVES for many years. We will discuss the Childside program as well as our typically structured first grade classes at an informational meeting on May 24 at 6:00 PM. At this meeting you will have the opportunity to look at classrooms and learn about the similarities and difference between Childside and the typically structured first grade classroom. Important Details: See schedule of when the classes are visiting. Please plan ahead if not coming to shop with your child. Tax is added on to the price of the book. All items are buy one, get one free, (free item must be equal, or lessor value). Lots of volunteer help is needed that week. Help the children shop, stock the books, check out items, set up and pack up. Please spend some time helping out it is easy and fun!
