Putting Resources to Work
Introduction On the User Adoption Resource Center (UARC), Kronos provides tools to train and support your end
users. Available tools may include job aids, videos, and tutorials (eLearning courses).
Finding Resources To find resources for a type of end user, you’ll select the applicable role (A). To find resources related
to your change management and training efforts, in addition to tools for mobile users, you’ll select the
relevant section (B). And to find resources specifically related to the latest Workforce Dimensions
release, you’ll use the New Features Alert (C).

To find resources applicable to your organization and end users:
1. Select a role for the end users.
2. Select the language for the resources you want.
3. Under the applicable entitlement (for example, Human Resources, Timekeeping, or Basic
Scheduling), select a resource type (job aids, videos, or tutorials) to display the available
resources.

Each tutorial will be available in two downloadable formats. If your organization uses an
online learning management system (LMS) to deliver and track eLearning, look for
tutorial files with names containing “LMS.”
Each video will be available in only web format in a zip file. (provide screenshot)
Downloading Resources When downloading resources, you can download them one at a time or all at once.
To download a specific resource, click that
resource.
To download all resources listed, click
Download folder.
When you use Download folder to download all files at once, or when you download
individual tutorials or videos, your download will be packaged as a ZIP file.

Extracting Resources To use resources you downloaded in ZIP files, you must first extract the resources from the
downloaded files.
When you’ve downloaded a tutorial to use on a learning management system (LMS),
do not extract any files. You will be uploading the ZIP file as is to your LMS.
Windows 10 has built-in functionality for this that treats ZIP files as “compressed folders.”
To extract resources from a compressed folder in Windows 10:
1. In File Explorer, select the compressed folder you downloaded.
2. Go to the Extract tab.
3. Click Extract all.
4. In the Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders window, if needed, change the location where the
files will be extracted.
5. Click Extract.
Note that some ZIP files may contain other ZIP files. You may need to extract resources
twice before being able to use them.

Using Resources After you’ve found, downloaded, and extracted the resources you want, it’s time to make them available
to your end users. Depending on the resource type and your organization’s needs, using the resources
will mean different things.
Job Aids
Downloadable job aids are in Microsoft Word format. That means you can edit them before making
them available to your end users. You may choose to convert job aids to PDF or HTML format from
within Word before placing them on an internal web portal, SharePoint, or other server.
Videos Downloadable video files are available in web format as a ZIP file. These files are intended for use on
a web server. Follow the instructions in the Extracting Resources section to extract all video-related
files from the ZIP file.
After you download and extract a web video ZIP file, you have several options:
• If you have a video streaming service, such as Vimeo:
1. Locate and upload the .MP4 file to the video stream service.
2. Provide end users with video streaming link to that file to launch the video.

• If you have a web server and need closed captions:
1. Locate and upload all extracted ZIP files to the web server.
2. Provide end users with a link to the HTML file on the web server to launch the video.
Tutorials As mentioned earlier, downloadable tutorials are available in two formats. One format, a ZIP file with
“LMS” in the file name, is intended for use on a learning management system (LMS). The other format,
a ZIP file without “LMS” in the file name, is intended for use on a web server.
LMS tutorials have been published using the SCORM 1.2 standard,
which is compatible with most organizations’ requirements.
After you download an LMS tutorial as a ZIP file, that same ZIP file must be uploaded to your LMS. LMSs typically require the zipped SCORM package; thus, do not “unzip” or extract the file prior to upload.
After you download and extract a non-LMS tutorial, the related files must all be uploaded – maintaining
the same folder structure – to your web server. Then locate the “index.html” or “story.html” file (there
will be only one or the other) and give end users a link to that file to launch the tutorial.

Minimum System Requirements In general, these are the minimum system requirements that considered necessary for content within a
Learning Management System (“LMS”) to run efficiently on your system and enable you to participate
in the course effectively.
Browser Tutorial content is accessed through a web browser on your PC, tablet or notepad (or smartphone). The system requirements for the LMS user are modest. All that is needed is a solid, reliable internet connection and a modern JavaScript and HTML5-compatible web browsers. Audio is not required if using closed captions only.
