Show your colors!Isle of Wight Arts League now has embroidery set-ups for shirts, hats, and visors. Board members will be wearing new apparel to identify the organization at public events. We’re offering items to our membership as well: visors ($10.25), ball caps($13.25), men and women’s Nike Dry Fit Polos ($40.25-$46.25), or a budget-friendly, moisture wick-ing polo starting at $24. Visit the Arts Center @ 319 to see samples and place orders. Orders and payment must be received by September 10. Delivery time is approximately 30 days.

Fundraising efforts are vital this yearMuch of IWAL’s operating budget comes from grants, which are subject to local and national funding allocations. In recent years these allocations have been reduced. To help with the shortfall, the Arts League has initiated new fundraising efforts:

Art on Tap, held April 30 at Wharf Hill Brewing Company, raised more than $3500 through sponsorships, ticket sales and auction of donated artwork, including paintings created during the event by live performance artist Gerome Meminger.

100 for $100 will be held at the Arts Center @ 319 November 1-6. This sale of afforda-ble artwork done by our member artists, and art obtained from members and friends who donate pieces from their personal collections, will not only raise much needed funds for the operation of the Arts Center but also encourage more people to become collectors of local art. Please contact Don Williams at [email protected] to sponsor or donate, or call the Arts Center at (757) 357-7707.

Amazon Smile is an easy way to support IWAL. Simply sign in or create a profile at https://smile.amazon.com, or download the Amazon Smile mobile app. Designate Isle of Wight Arts League as the recipient nonprofit organization. Then, just shop as usual for anything on the site. You pay nothing extra, and Amazon will automatically donate a percentage of each purchase price to IWAL.

Renew your IWAL membership promptly each year. You’ll receive a notice when your membership payment is due. Please consider adding a tax-deductible donation. It may seem like a drop in the bucket, but enough “drops” will fill the bucket and help us continue to offer our services to the local arts community.
