Your Medicines Matter – public awareness campaign The ‘Your medicines matter’ campaign has been developed to encourage/remind patients to bring in their own medicines when they come into hospitals across Greater Manchester – to help improve safety, optimise patient experience, and to help reduce the region’s medicine waste. Currently, just over half of patients across Greater Manchester bring their own medicines into hospital. We want to increase this percentage and are hoping that the pharmacy community will help promote the message to patients, carers and relatives. We would therefore be grateful if community pharmacy staff could: Remind and encourage patients to bring their medication into hospital with them Display the printed materials enclosed – poster and flyers – in patient-facing areas Promote the campaign through digital channels – TV screens, websites, social media. The LPC will be emailing you with a digital toolkit providing resources to facilitate promotion of the campaign in your settings. This will include a staff briefing document, campaign images in English, Arabic, Chinese, Gujarati, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Somali and Urdu, as well as content for your TV screens, websites and social media where applicable. We would greatly appreciate it if you could use these materials to help raise campaign awareness.

Dear colleague,

Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership Transformation Theme 4: Hospital Pharmacy Transformation Collaborative and Greater Manchester LPC.

Your Medicines Matter – public awareness campaign

The ‘Your medicines matter’ campaign has been developed to encourage/remind patients to bring in their own medicines when they come into hospitals across Greater Manchester – to help improve safety, optimise patient experience, and to help reduce the region’s medicine waste.

Currently, just over half of patients across Greater Manchester bring their own medicines into hospital. We want to increase this percentage and are hoping that the pharmacy community will help promote the message to patients, carers and relatives. We would therefore be grateful if community pharmacy staff could:

Remind and encourage patients to bring their medication into hospital with them Display the printed materials enclosed – poster and flyers – in patient-facing areas Promote the campaign through digital channels – TV screens, websites, social media.

If you have any queries about the campaign, please contact Gareth Adams, Programme Manager Greater Manchester Hospital Pharmacy Transformation Collaborative or the LPC using the details below. Thank you for your support.
