Psalm 5
Sung to
ABERYSTWYTH
CCLI #977558 1
O Je-ho-vah, hear my words, To my thoughts at-ten-tive be; Hear my cry, my King, my God, I will make my prayer to Thee.
2
With the morn-ing light, O Lord, Thou shalt hear my voice and cry,
In the morn my prayer ar-range And keep con-stant watch will I.
3
Truly Thou art not a God That in sin doth take delight
E-vil shall not dwell with Thee, Nor the proud stand in Thy sight.
4
E-vil-do-ers Thou dost hate, Liars Thou wilt bring to naught; God ab-hors the man who loves Deeds of blood or lying thought.
5
But in Thine abundant graceTo Thy house I will re-pair; Looking to Thy ho-ly place,
In Thy fear I’ll worship there.
6
Since, O Lord, mine enemiesFor my soul do lie in wait,
Lead me in Thy righteousness;Make Thy way before me straight
7
For they flatter with their tongue In their mouth no truth is found;Like an open grave their throat;
All their thoughts with sin a-bound
8
Hold them guilty, O my God; Them for all their sins expel;Let them fall by their own craftFor against Thee they rebel.
9
But let all that trust Thy careEv-er glad and joy-ful be;
Let them joy who love Thy name,For they guarded are by Thee
10
And a blessing rich, O LordTo the right-eous Thou wilt yield;Thou wilt com-pass him a-bout
With Thy fa-vor as a shield.
