Would you like to get to know others in your Edison Park Church Family? After a year of gatherings, we’re ready to reorganize our “Dinner For Eight” groups and would love to welcome new folks! “Dinner for Eight” is a “Dinner for Eight” is a “Dinner for Eight” is a “Dinner for Eight” is a chance for eight people (couples/singles) to chance for eight people (couples/singles) to chance for eight people (couples/singles) to chance for eight people (couples/singles) to get together for dinner every other get together for dinner every other get together for dinner every other get together for dinner every other monthmonthmonthmonth. The group would determine when and where the next meeting would take place. Participants would take turns hosting and preparing the main course, though not everyone will need to host at their home, and others would bring appetizers, salad, side dishes, dessert, etc. to compliment the meal. This is not a gourmet club! Some menu suggestions could include comfort food, a summer barbecue, soup and sandwiches, piz-za, or just appetizers and dessert. Diakonia is a two year process of spiritual formation and theological education for

baptized members of the Lutheran Church. This process occurs in three basic ways: 1. thorough grounding in the classic seminary disciplines of practical, systematic, historical, and Biblical theology; 2. identifying particular skills and aptitudes in ministry, and encouraging their use in

the local parish; 3. providing spiritual growth through worship, retreats, and a supportive communi-

ty of fellow students, mentors, and instructors.
