The Bonetta Family

Vested in the bright white that is the color of its origins, the root of every eventuality, every evolution, the primal purity, the sum total of every color, the chalk soil of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello.

Within Baglio del Cristo di Campobello:

Thirty hectares of vineyards planted in the soil of Agrigento, Sicily; ten vineyard sites uniting to form a single body, within the confines of a fifty-hectare estate located in Campobello di Licata.

Deep soil, both calcareous and chalky, spread over hills that lie between 230 and 270 meters above sea level, just 8,000 meters from the coast.

For the most part planted with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare, all reared from original stock planted in its mother-earth, all harvested by hand, using small crates.

Spiritual morphology.

The diverse peoples that set up a common home here weave a seamless mythological tapestry, merging their own lives with this older, simpler world that has transformed them according to the necessities of its imagination and the dictates of its heart.

A practical spirit, which the people of Sicily display in their natural sentiment, or their religious instinct - the core of the human spirit.

People that have both the need and the knowledge to adapt the time-frame of nature and myth to their own personal calendar, adjusting even Christian dogma to suit the idyllic passions that color their personal requirements.

Lusirà

100% Syrah

Lusirà embodies the Sicilian character of middle-Eastern Syrah flourishing in its promised land - four hectares of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello. Man has faith in that which he desires. The realization of dreams, together with a certainty of what will come to pass have already taken root.

Lu Patri

100% Nero d’Avola

The secret laid bare to truths revealed as one generation passes to the next.Lu Patri is the Nero d’Avola conceived in the spring of 2000, in six hectares of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello vineyards and fathered by the offspring of its mother-earth. Purity and sublimation. Labor’s reward.

Lalùci

100% Grillo

That which is forgotten is as though it never came to pass. All that exists is reminiscence - Lalùci - light that unveils and reveals. The primordial concept. The archetype. It is as it should be. The Grillo of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello.

Laudàri

100% Chardonnay

This Chardonnay cannot shun the praise bestowed on it for being first Sicilian, then Chardonnay. The bright white that is the color of its origins, the root of every eventuality, every evolution, the primal purity, the sum total of every color, the chalk soil of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello.

Adènzia

Profound driving forces and the will to listen - what Sicilians term “dare adènzia” (giving audience)…

… and an insistence on clarity, in an act of understanding that is life itself: Grillo and Insolia combine to create something of greater value than the sum of their parts.

… and an insistence on depth, in an act of understanding that is life itself: Nero d’Avola and Syrahcombine to create something of greater value than the sum of their parts.

C’D’C’CRISTO DI CAMPOBELLO

The theme of this bottle is the unveiling of the Sicily of Agrigento in its inextricable synthesis: in the red grapes Nero d’Avola, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah - in the transparent union of our noblest white grapes: Grillo, Insolia, Chardonnay e Catarratto - and in the rose-tinted glimpse of its Nero d’Avola soul - to celebrate the drinker’s rites and gods.

The Sicilian Veil is hidden knowledge, a secret, creation, protection, revelation, illumination.In 2008, a mere 2,008 C’D’C’ label-veils were woven on the Sicilian mill.

The solstices of summer and winter that pay homage to the Sun, to Adonis and Gereatis, Mesopotamian astral theology and the ritualistic seasonal dramas all find their place again at Baglio del Cristo di Campobello.

The Sicilian veil is removed.
