Providence and creation Our authentication. Everyday.

Thirty hectares of vineyards planted in the soil of Agrigento, Sicily; ten vineyard sites uniting to form a single

body, within the confines of a fifty-hectare estate located in Campobello di Licata …. (“Beautiful Field”). Deep

soil, both calcareous and chalky, spread over hills that lie between 230 and 270 meters above sea level, just

8,000 meters from the coast. For the most part planted with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare, all reared

from original stock planted in its mother-earth, all harvested by hand, using small crates.

Our vision

After decades spent tending the vines grew the vision of a new enological path to follow, driven by the wish

to attain the highest quality possible. And the right resources were there to fulfill the dream: the appropriate

location; an extraordinary microclimate; human resources of the highest caliber. These together have given

life to “Baglio del Cristo di Campobello”, born into an uncontaminated land that displays infinite

environmental nuances and carries with it local religious tradition; a land cultivated with passion and

devotion, benefiting from the patience and experience of three family men. With every vintage the research

continues, to identify new goals and further opportunities for improvement.

The Philosophy

Limited production, following the fortunes of each vintage, only fully ripe grapes harvested by hand, separate

vinification of each grape variety, all done in order to respect and preserve the characteristics of the unique

and precious land. These are only some of the choices made by “Baglio del Cristo di Campobello” in an

endeavor to achieve the level of quality sought from the outset.

All this is made possible by the tenacity, strength, passion and dedication shown day by day, throughout the

year, by the estate’s men and women.

The realization of dreams, together with a certainty of what will come to pass, have already taken root.

Winery ID – The Wine Cellar

production capacity: 5.000 hectoliters

storage tanks and barrels: stainless steel tanks of 100, 50 and 25 hectoliters. Barrels of 110 hectoliters

constructed in stainless steel and French oak wood.

Small oak barrels: Medium-toasted Allier, Troncais and Never French oak wood barriques and tonneaux of 350

litres, a number of which seasoned for 40 months, capacity up to 2.500 hectoliters.

Winery ID – Wine Cellar Technology

The 110-liter stainless steel/French oak allow the wine to age in oak whilst, at the same time, benefiting from

the processes that stainless steel tank technology allows (Pumping over, micro/macro oxygenation and

temperature control).

All tanks are linked to a central computer system that controls all cellar operations, vinification temperature

etc. Data can be displayed on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual chart. The computer operating system

can report anomalies in real time, permitting cellar staff to control and monitor remotely each stage of the

winemaking process. The system also contains wine traceability software that archives all vineyard data and

the entire cellar operation, allowing staff access to essential information that traces the history of each single

batch of bottles, from the storage shelf back to its vineyard of origin.

Nero d’Avola, Syrah, Merlot

The theme of this bottle is the unveiling of the Sicily of Agrigento in the inextricable synthesis of our red grapes. The Sicilian veil is removed. Vinification: traditional red vinification, with maceration on the skins for 10 - 15 days at controlled temperature.

Aging: six months in stainless steel tanks and a further six months in bottle.

“Full, fruity aromas, with soft red fruit notes and a hint of balsam arriving late on the nose. Round and flavorful, soft and caressing, with a good level of alcohol and soft tannins. Nero d’Avola

The theme of this bottle is the unveiling of Sicily with a rose-tinted glimpse of its Nero d’Avola soul. Vinification: After de-stemming and crushing, the grapes are macerated on the skins at a temperature of

12°C, for about 3 hours. A light pressing follows, then the must is separated and delivered cold to the

fermentation tank.

Aging: the wine spends four months on the lees in temperature-controlled tanks, with weekly bâtonnages, and

a further two months in bottle before release.

“Aromas of dog roses, wild strawberries, raspberries and plums, with hints of minerals. Pleasing on the palate, with fruit and aromatic herb flavors. Profound driving forces and the will to listen - what Sicilians term “dare adènzia” (giving audience, pay attention) - and an insistence on depth, in an act of understanding that is life itself: Nero d’Avola and Syrah combine to create something of greater value than the sum of their parts. Vinification: Traditional red vinification, with maceration on the skins for 15 - 20 days at controlled temperature.

Aging: Twelve months in 110-hectoliter steel-French oak casks and a minimum of twelve months in bottle.

“Very wide-ranging spectrum of aromas, with notes of sour cherries and forest fruits, together with delicious hints of vanilla. Caressing and spicy, with firm, but graceful tannins. That which is forgotten is as though it never came to pass. All that exists is reminiscence – Lalùci – light that unveils and reveals. The primordial concept. The archetype. It is as it should be. The Grillo of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello. Vinification: After de-stemming and crushing, the temperature of the grapes is dropped to 8 - 10ºC for the

maceration. A light pressing follows, after which the free-run wine is separated and decanted through the

process of natural sedimentation at low temperature.

This Chardonnay cannot shun the praise bestowed on it for being first Sicilian, then Chardonnay. Vinification: After de-stemming and crushing, the temperature of the grapes is dropped to 8 - 10ºC for the

maceration. A light pressing follows, after which the free-run wine is separated and decanted through the

process of natural sedimentation at low temperature. The selected yeasts are inoculated by alcoholic

fermentation - initiated in stainless steel vats then racked to oak barrels where the process is completed.

Aging: 3 - 4 months on the lees, with weekly bâtonnage, and 8 - 12 months in bottle.

Lusirà embodies the Sicilian character of middle-Eastern Syrah flourishing in its promised land – four hectares of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello. Man has faith in that which he desires. Vinification: After further selection, the bunches are de-stemmed then lightly crushed. Pumping over the must

at regular intervals guarantees optimum extraction of the substances in the skins. Maceration for c. 18 days in
