Class fee is $18 for 60 and up and $28 for 59 and under. •Crocheting Class (HP): Eight week class is offered that will teach you the basics on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until noon. Class fee is $16 for 60 and over and $25 for 59 and under. •Jewelry Making (HP): Four week class offered. Learn to create and repair. Class fee is $8 for 60 and up and $15. Class is offered on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. •Knitting Group: Bring you cur- rent projects or come learn this craft. Group shares patterns and ideas as well as lots of conversation. Burgaw Group meets on Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m. Topsail Group meets on Wednes- day from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Line Dancing (HP): Come and learn some new steps. This is fun and great exercise. Eight-week class fee is $8 for 60 and over and $12 for 59 and under. Class meets on Mondays from 6-7 p.m. •Oil Painting (HP): Class offered through CFCC, Burgaw. Sessions are six weeks. Register at CFCC Burgaw Campus. Class meets on Mondays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Heritage Place. •Quilting Group: Bring you cur- rent projects and work together to make beautiful creations. Supplies not included. Group meets on Tues- days in Burgaw from 1-4 p.m. Wednes- day at Topsail from 9 until noon, and Thursday from 1-4 p.m. •Senior Chorus “Lamplighters” (HP): This is a 55 and older singing group that meets most Mondays at Heritage Place. Our chorus performs at local events and programs. No ex- perience required. Group meets on Monday from 2-3:30 p.m. and sings at local rest homes on other occasions. •Sit and Be Fit: Low impact chair exercise class meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 11-11:55 a.m. •Line Dancing (HP), every Monday at 6 p.m. For more information on classes, call 259-9119. The Retired Senior Volun- teer Program (RSVP) spread much joy throughout the Christmas season across Pender County and provided gifts, smiles, and love through- out the community. Thank you to all the won- derful RSVP volunteers for the extra time and warmth they added to this special season of the year. Special thanks to Dolores Huffman and Arlene Chem- ers for their homemade “heat pad” creations. Each homebound senior received this special wrapped gift. Reindeer cookies, home- made pound cakes (made by the Harvey/Keith families), candy canes and Christmas cards were lovingly distrib- uted. Thank you to our terrific RSVP volunteers and to many in the community that help us spread the joy during this season of giving. Topsail Senior Center vol- unteers helped the American Legion with food distribu- tion to the homebound in the Hampstead Area. Heritage Place seniors helped Trask High School with a Bright Ideas Project. Seniors cut fleece material into 225 scarves and 24 blan- kets so that students could tie the fringe and distribute to the area homeless. Pender County Master Gardeners created more than 150 beautiful greenery ar- rangements for home deliv- ered meals clients. Donations for the Toys for Tots program were collected at all three agency sites. A truckload of red sacks will be distributed to area children thanks to the generosity of Pender Adult Services par- ticipants at Heritage Place, Fitness Fusion and Topsail Senior Center. Pender Adult Services has a vari-ety of classes in January.

A large group of seniors held a “cut-up party” to assist Heide Trask High School with their Bright Ideas Grant. The grant provided material that was cut-up into blankets and scarves. The items will be donated to area homeless.
