improve decision making, it’s important to ensure

that real impact is achieved. Bridging the gap

between technical expertise with the operational

expertise relevant to the organization Is the

responsibility of the business translator. Mastering

this skill makes you an enabler of AI driven solutions.

This training empowers you to set up and lead

analytics use cases inside your organization, define

Data Science with PythonThis training will teach you about the relevant

packages and tools to do data science in Python.

This training will cover the tools and packages that

Specifically, you will learn how to work with pandas,

use Jupyter notebooks. In addition, we will show

Spark offers to perform large-scale data science.


Deep LearningExplore the essentials of deep learning through

real-world applications. The deep learning (DL)

approach to artificial intelligence (AI) has already

revolutionized many industries. Learn how these

autonomous, self-teaching systems, like Google’s

voice and image recognition algorithms, are

developed and applied in this dynamic, three-day

training. Through hands-on experience, you’ll learn

how to leverage cloud GPU resources and build

deep-learning models for images, text and time

series.


Spark Programming (Databricks)This training is for data engineers, analysts,

architects; software engineers; IT operations;

and technical managers interested in a thorough,

hands-on overview of the Apache Spark platform.

Each topic includes slide and lecture content

along with the hands-on use of Spark through

the elegant Databricks web-based notebook

environment. Inspired by tools like IPython/Jupyter

and Matlab, Databricks notebooks allow attendees

Fokko Driesprong

Apache Airflow

Beside the ordinary techniques,

Fokko Driesprong is an enthusiast

of functional programming

(preferably Scala) and big data

processing platforms. Besides being a consultant,

he contributes to open source projects. He’s a

committer on the Apache {Airflow, Avro} project and

contributes to Apache {Spark, Flink, Superset, Druid,

...}. Furthermore, he’s addicted to home automation,

electronics and building his own amplifiers based

on vacuum tubes. Fokko is one of the driving forces

behind the Apache Airflow Meetup in Amsterdam.

Roel Bertens Data Science

with Python

Extracting interesting information

from data was already the topic

of Roel’s PhD in the field of

Data Mining. He focused on

summarization and anomaly detection in sequence

data using frequent patterns. A pattern can be

anything from a change in speed, when collecting

data from a cyclist, or a sequence of words, when

looking at text data.

Jelte Hoekstra Data Science

with Python, Data Science with R,

Data Science with Spark

Jelte is a cheerful data scientist

with a wide range of interests.

Besides juggling data, Jelte

enjoys learning about all sorts of topics e.g.

programming languages, game theory, and world

politics. He likes exploring the latest technological

advances and generally, he is a rapid learner. Before

joining GDD, Jelte studied Computer Science at

Utrecht University. His MSc. thesis concerned

predicting peak travel in public transport. In his

spare time, Jelte occasionally hacks on a side

project.

Julian de Ruiter Data Science

with Spark

Julian is a data scientist at

GoDataDriven, who also

enjoys dabbling in some data

engineering. He previously

studied at the Delft University of Technology, where

he completed his Bachelor in Computer Science

and his Master in Bioinformatics cum laude.

After Delft, he spent his PhD exploring breast cancer

development and origins of (acquired) treatment

resistance at the Netherlands Cancer institute.

Vincent Warmerdam

Data Science with Python, Data

Science with Spark, Data Science

with R, Deep Learning

Vincent taught himself

programming four years ago and

now he is a founding co-chair of PyData

Amsterdam, preferred Rstudio training partner and

organizer of the Applied Machine Learning Meetup

in Amsterdam. Vincent is Data Scientist and

Developer at GoDataDriven. Prior to that he

obtained a MSc in Econometrics and Operations

Research and worked as an independent data

scientist. The world will be a better place if people

use data effectively which is why he gives free

lectures/sessions to people who want to get started

with open source data analysis in Amsterdam. He is

fluent in python, R and javascript and even dabbles

with C/C#/C++ and scala from time to time.

Marcel Raas Deep Learning

Marcel completed a study in

theoretical physics, after which

he did a PhD in particle physics

at CERN. Marcel is fluent in

programming in Python, C++ and

Matlab, knows mathematics relevant for machine

learning (probability theory, optimisation, linear

algebra) and how to use these in programming.

Andrew Snare

Spark Programming

Andrew is a Big Data Hacker at

GoDataDriven. Andrew is an

experienced software engineer

with a deep understanding of

numerous technologies and languages. Andrew

is a certified Cloudera, Databricks, and Cassandra

instructor, and also enjoys sharing his experiences

on stage, for example at Goto Conference.

Kris Geusebroek Data Science

with Spark, Spark Programming

Kris is a seasoned and

communicative developer

with a passion for combining

technologies to create new

possibilities for the people around him. Kris started

developing with Java and gained a vast experience

with the development of Geographical Information

Systems. Over time, Kris gradually developed a

passion for open source solutions. Over the past

years, Kris has been working with distributed

systems and graph databases, like Hadoop and

Neo4J, for large enterprises.
