Hobart City Demons is a vibrant and new Tasmanian Statewide League (TSL) Australian Rules Football (AFL) Club established in 2013 supported by the strong foundations of one of our country’s oldest and most distinguished clubs.

Sitting at the heart of our strategic plan is a vision to be the leading club in Tasmania in all aspects – both on and off the field.

Our players are inspired and developed under a strong leadership ethos with a focus on team-work, development, pathways, community engagement and social inclusion.

From the President – Greg BarnsWelcome to the Hobart City Demons – the only elite AFL club that represents the city of Hobart. Our Club, ‘the Demons’, is steeped in the rich heritage of North Hobart, one of the most successful clubs in Tasmanian football. We are taking the North Hobart heritage with us as we work to create a new and exciting football club which is focussed on on field success combined with strong links to our local community.

2014 was our first season in the Tasmanian State League and while we did not make the finals series we beat two finalists and were competitive in nearly all our games. What has become apparent to all of us associated with Hobart City Demons and to many football watchers is that through excellent coaching and on field leadership the ethos of the club is about teamwork and opportunity.

Hobart City Demons is a club which values its players, whether they be seasoned campaigners in the State League side or young rookies in the Development League. Ensuring that our players are growing not only as footballers but as members of the broader community is a very important part of what we are about. The social life of the Club is important in this regard as is the commitment to helping out players who might be struggling with issues off the field. Caring for and about your players should be a core value of every AFL club and we certainly ensure that as a club we live out that value.

We want all of those who come into contact with the Hobart City Demons, whether it be on or off the field, to feel as though they have made a worthwhile connection.At the end of the day the Hobart City Demons experience should be one that is fun, engaging and which provides opportunities for players, members, supporters and our business and community partners to flourish.
