The CarThis is the Car we will use in the film. This car will be used by detective Adams and Detective Jones when they drive into the scene of the murder and exit simultaneously together, then they will exchange dialogue over the roof. We were able to have access to using a car because it is my media partner’s Jack’s car so this was very useful as he could do the driving in the scenes necessary however we would make sure the camera could not see his face through the window due to him not being the actor so this would sort out any continuity.

The SirenThis is the siren we will use to place above the detectives car, making the scene seem more realistic and showing attention to detail. The siren is very good as it look’s like the ones real police car’s use helping the whole thing look more realistic. Once attached to the car, when driving the siren turns on and creates a life like sound as well as revolves with flashing lights. In the film we used this for the opening shot where the car drives past and the siren is on showing some crime has happened, letting the audience know the type of film it is. We also useA shot in the film of just the Siren on its own, using a close-Up where we hear a faint noiseAnd see the flashing lightsLetting us see the siren in Detail which looks good and Dramatic.

The Police Badges

These are the two badges Detective Jones and Adams will use to prove their identity to the policeman. This also helps the audience see what role they are and can tell they are important due to how they will dress, act and address themselves. We decided attention to detail was very important in order to create the best scene we could so due to having enough budget left and to creating a believable sequence we decided these would be very good to use. The detectives hold these out when arriving at the scene and the policeman then tells them the situation.

The Police SignThis is the police sign we will use in our film. As the car drives past, we will then see the policeman pick up tape and wrap it round a lamp post so no other cars can enter. This is good as it helps the detectives car get by first and then shows the scene being closed off to any other people. We then do a close up of the police sign and to make it more realistic we will see it swaying in the breeze and creating a dramatic effect as well as letting the audience know a serious crime has taken place.

The Crime Scene TapeAlthough as mentioned in the previous slide we are using Police Tape we have also decided to use ‘Crime Scene Do not Cross’ tape as well. This is due to two places of the area needing to be taped off and making it more clear and useful. At the front of the road we will place the police tape and at the two lamp posts in front of the deceased body, we will place the crime scene tape there, however we will not show this being put up but we will already have it placed in the right place. We will not use a close up of this either but it is good to have in the background of the film so we can again see attention to detail and make it more realistic and professional.

The FlowerpotOur last prop is of course, a Flowerpot. This was an obvious needed proper because the title of our film is ‘Death By Flowerpot’. We have got two of these incase of needing to re-do a scene. At the beginning of the film we would record the noise of the smashing and then place the character of the deceased character around it whilst placing broken bits of pottery around him and bits of soil, making sure the actor is suitably dressed for all this. We decided we will not film the flowerpot being broken but we will just show the deceased character with the broken features around him at the end of the sceneHowever we will have him lying there throughoutSo there is no problem with continuity. We will also feature the sound of the pot Being broken probably at the very beginning To create a mysterious and dramaticEffect.
