PERFORMING ARTS CENTRESIn 2014, 19 Local Government Authorities operating performing arts centres or programs were funded by Creative Victoria. They reported on employment, volunteering, membership, income and expenditure and attendance and programming.

18 of these are located in regional Victoria.

FINANCE

Creative Victoria provided $1.7 million to performing arts centres, around 7% of total income.

Total turnover for all performing arts centres was $24.4 million.

Every $1 provided by Creative Victoria leveraged a further $13.80 income to this sector.

Earned income was 42% of total revenue.

Creative Victoria funding was 7%

Other Government funding was 50% of total revenue (Almost all of which was local Government. Local Government support represented 49% of total revenue)

Performing arts centres presented 5,462 events, including:

1,352 productions

176 exhibitions

305 films

1,581 lectures, seminars and conferences

305 workshops

6 performing arts centres have collection or education material on-line.

PROGRAMMING

10 performing arts centres offered programming for emerging artists.

All 19 centres offered youth participation programs recording 90,179 Victorian student attendances through 851 sessions.

A number of organisations offered targeted programming:

16 offered programming for children (up to 12 years)

16 offered programming for youth (12 to 25 years)

9 offered programming for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders

3 offered programming for people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities

8 offered programming for people with a disability

6 offered programming for women

16 offered programming for senior citizens

The sector reported 545 inbound tours and 1 outbound tour within Victoria.
