Posted: 11/14/2014 by parentMy daughter has been going to TH since Kinder and in 3rd grade now She's had nothing but GREAT teacher's so far but I do know of one 1st grade teacher thatI'm glad she didn't have! I have to say the teacher in room 25 is the best teacher there and is great at communicating with us parents via remind system or e-mail.I'm impressed with the school so far but I do know every school has it's bad apples. I haven't had any direct contact with Mr Marks to make any comments but theone time I did have an issue the assistant principal Mrs Konenci was VERY HELPFUL! I was so worried about an accident that my daughter was involed in I hadsent her an email late one evening and she called me right back so I wouldn't worry all night! Now that's a DEDICATED assist principal! Leslie in the front office iswonderful and is on top of her game. I'm proud to say my daughter is attending a school with great test scores and is having a positive impact in her daily life. Igive the PTA an A plus! The last day of school pool party was the best ever! My daughter has had a great experience so far I just hope and pray the next 2 yearsare as positive.

Posted: 10/5/2014 by parentMy daughter has had ups and downs just like any child at school. She was bullied a couple times during the years she's attended. However, I brought it to theattention of the front desk who notified the Assist Principle Mrs. Konecni and everything was taken care of. I wasn't expecting it to be handled so well.. She's easyto talk to and got to the bottom of it. She has a box where the kids can write her notes if they need help. My daughters teachers have been great. She is aboveaverage in school. She hasn't had a teacher who yells but she knows who those teachers are and she's greatful for never being in their class.. I'm giving the schoola 5 star rating for our experience, because the school has been good to us. I think that they can improv, by addressing the bullying before it happens and moreoften during every day before recess and lunch. I do think the school has improved since Mrs. Konecni has been there with this issue though.

We recently moved to Orange county and we really miss Tuscany hills elementaryand its wonderful teachers. The principal , Mr. Marks, is very involved and works very hard to make Tuscany hills elementary one of the top schools in Riversidecounty with the highest API score. My son's first grade teacher, Mrs. Zarillo, is an amazing teacher: very talented, very patient with children, has a great sense ofhumor and always enthusiastic and organized. Posted: 5/19/2014 by parentLove this school!! I have 3 kids currently in the school & have been going there for 4 years. Every teacher we've had has been amazing! They truly care about mychildren & their education. The PTA is like no other I have ever experienced & the involvement by the parents makes this school extra-special with the mother-son skating night, father-daughter dance, grandparents day, the plays, the band, 100 mile club, Reflections art program, movie night, ice cream social & muchmore. My youngest had a bullying issue with another student on the bus & after only 1 phone call to the VP, the issue was handled & it has never happenedagain. The Principal Mr. Marks, called me personally to let me know the outcome & to make sure everything was OK! When does that ever happen in a school?He runs a tight ship which is essential, but can also be seen joining in on the pie eating contest or running in the 100 mile club in the mornings along with thestudents. The school nurse & office staff are always helpful & friendly. My kids have excelled academically & are all above grade level & that is a direct result oftheir teachers. This school is hands down 1 of the best elementary schools around!

Only money makers for the younger kidsthat havent figured out they dont enjoy most of them. Teachers there are hit and miss, no in betweens. Unfortunately we suffered a couple bad teachers and weare paying the price for this BULLYING BY THE TEACHER! Not a happy parent. Principal gives you run around, no effective management just CYA.

I love the weeklyprogress reports, they tell you exactly what is happening with your child and how many assignments are missing in each subject. I have recieved teacher emailaddress every year and used it!! The staff is very prompt on answering every question and offer many tutoring sessions on site. I really believe in this school,faculty, and parents. I will stay in this district as long as possible.

The teachers really care and will workwith you if your child needs help. They offer tutoring before school if needed. The principal is very nice with a calm demeanor. I really feel like he is there for thekids and not his ego as we experienced when we left the area. The front office is amazing! Some of the nicest and most helpful people. Leslie is awesome! Wemade the right choice coming back to this school. My kids are SO happy and doing much better now.

Both are 10s and their community reviews positives far outweigh their negatives (though I am NOT takingthe neg comments lightly!). One is closer but driving one exit up is really no big deal. I'm just so torn. My child is now going to a LE public school that is dualimmersion (teaches them spanish), But it teaches the bare minimum with the other subjects. the ratings are in the 700s and my husb and I really care aboutSTEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and we want that to be taught young. So as much as I LOVE the fact they are learning a 2nd language and hasexcelled at it, we absolutely need a school that goes HARDER IN STEM. I'm just torn. Wish I had a crystal ball.

There is a reason why this school has the highest API in all ofRiverside county and it is because of the dedication and encouragement of the staff, the amount of parent involvement, and most importantly the hard work of allthe students. I'm very disappointed with the Districtthough, particularly the Superintendent in not standing up to the City regarding a proposed cell tower to be installed within feet of the school playground.Hopefully, he'll grow a spine and do the right thing before it's too late. Also, the PTA has proven useless as they're controlled by the District....definitely NOT aParent Association.

In comparision we notice; poor supervision and division during recess times, very poor communicationwhen trying to resolve concerns with principal (he is NOT willing to listen, you are given a SOP rundown and a shoo out the door) , no extra curricular activities,overall there seems to be an abundance of negative behavior and bullying among the children starting even in younger grades! I think this is due to there notbeing a program in place like other districts already have, teaching these children appropriate behaviors and how to deal with these new social situations. Reallybummed out. Would love to hear any advice on where to go with our concerns.

The school has many events thatinclude parents, donuts with dad, mom son bingo, daddy daughter dance, and ice cream socials. It is a family oriented school everyone knows each other. Theonly negative tons of home work, great test scores though. The school deserves a 10!

Posted: 8/20/2009 by parentIt's only the second week of school for my kindergartner and so far I am not impressed! Internal communication is lacking. I learned more about the principal'sfamily at the kinder-tissue than I needed to know, and information about what to expect on the first day was non-exsistant. We were lost on campus and no-onecould tell us where to be. It was utter chaos. The teachers dress code is too relaxed (exposed tattoos) they don't all look like professionals who command therespect of their students. Some are dressed like they are going to the grocery store. If it were'nt for the name tags that we eventually noticed, we would not haveknown who the teachers were. Overall, I am nervous about this school.

Posted: 11/14/2014 by parentMy daughter has been going to TH since Kinder and in 3rd grade now She's had nothing but GREAT teacher's so far but I do know of one 1st grade teacher thatI'm glad she didn't have! I have to say the teacher in room 25 is the best teacher there and is great at communicating with us parents via remind system or e-mail.I'm impressed with the school so far but I do know every school has it's bad apples. I haven't had any direct contact with Mr Marks to make any comments but theone time I did have an issue the assistant principal Mrs Konenci was VERY HELPFUL! I was so worried about an accident that my daughter was involed in I hadsent her an email late one evening and she called me right back so I wouldn't worry all night! Now that's a DEDICATED assist principal! Leslie in the front office iswonderful and is on top of her game. I'm proud to say my daughter is attending a school with great test scores and is having a positive impact in her daily life. Igive the PTA an A plus! The last day of school pool party was the best ever! My daughter has had a great experience so far I just hope and pray the next 2 yearsare as positive.

However, I brought it to theattention of the front desk who notified the Assist Principle Mrs. Konecni and everything was taken care of. I wasn't expecting it to be handled so well.. She's easyto talk to and got to the bottom of it. She has a box where the kids can write her notes if they need help. My daughters teachers have been great. She is aboveaverage in school. She hasn't had a teacher who yells but she knows who those teachers are and she's greatful for never being in their class.. I'm giving the schoola 5 star rating for our experience, because the school has been good to us. I think that they can improv, by addressing the bullying before it happens and moreoften during every day before recess and lunch. I do think the school has improved since Mrs. Konecni has been there with this issue though.

We recently moved to Orange county and we really miss Tuscany hills elementaryand its wonderful teachers. The principal , Mr. Marks, is very involved and works very hard to make Tuscany hills elementary one of the top schools in Riversidecounty with the highest API score. My son's first grade teacher, Mrs. Zarillo, is an amazing teacher: very talented, very patient with children, has a great sense ofhumor and always enthusiastic and organized. Posted: 8/22/2013 by parentSchool is a tool. It your choice to use it. CLMS has been a great experience 2012-2013. And continues to be on track this year for even greater things. With thenew Core Standards occurring throughout the United States we will find placement of our children to be more in line with their grades in class. I find the teachersand staff at CLMS to be engaging and excited about teaching our children. We currently have a 6th and 7th grader attending CLMS and both of our children arehappy and thriving in this schools environment. With education of top priority in our home our children choose to use the tool that is Canyon Lake Middle School.

Posted: 2/24/2012 by parentREALLY upset about this school. The school uses state scores to place children in classes. They do not use their grades. My child was an excellent student withall A's and one B+ my child was sick during testing week but insisted that they had to do the testing, and because of low testing score was placed in lower levelclasses, the desire to stay interested in keeping academics has gone downhill. My child is now receiving C grades and not on Honor Roll any longer. I haveapproached the counselor several times just to hear that they will not adjust their policy regardless of the outcome. We are left feeling defeated and are so sad tosee how their failure to look out for the students best interest and adjust, is so negatively impacting our children and their desire to learn. There is nothing inplace at this school to teach social skills and the kids are left to their own. The school is very un-reactive to bullying and teasing. The staff is very unfriendly andunapproachable. A good majority of the teachers are very nice and do a very good job. There are another batch with a chip on their shoulder and clearly do notbelong working with these young kids.

My older kids went to school here and had great experience under the leadership of Mr. Sepulveda. Now have kids in this school again and it hascompletely gone downhill! Less activities for the students, less enforcement of what they show to be their dress code, teachers spend a lot of time disciplining kidsinstead of teaching my kid. Administration doing nothing to correct the problems, just getting worse.

He is an amazing leader, who is just asgreat a co-educator, as he is a principal. Canyon Lake Middle School is a professional learning community; which means that nobody works in isolation andcollaboration is essential. Teachers are fully supported and every opinion, from the custodial staff to teachers, has an equal value. It is a positive environment,where student success is the focus. I was welcomed, supported, and felt that I was a part of something great! My experience at CLMS has shaped my teachingtechnique, professional principles, and expectations. The leadership, teachers, and site have set thethe one standard that I continue to measure all othersagainst. This school is extraordinary, in every sense of the word!

Posted: 9/22/2006 by parentDaughter's third year attending. Very good academics and after school programs. The teachers seem to be on the cutting edge of teaching techniques. They donot seem afraid to try new ideas, be it with fancy, expensive gadgets to basic, in your face lessons. I have had nothing but great experiences with the faculty,students and parents at this school. The principal is very involved. I have seem him at every function, on or off campus. He explains his standards before the yearand holds to them. One complaint would be the sports programs need to be expanded. Playing only one game does not promote the team experience andlessons. Create teams and have a season, not one tournament. This is the only middle school I have experience with, in the area, but I am very happy with it.

My children are learning well and the teachersspend quality time with the students. I have had the opportunity to communicate with my childrens teachers as well. I would highly recommend Canyon LakeMiddle school to others.

I have noticed that when assignments are submitted they seem to get misplaced at times andthe studen needs to redo the lesson or assignment. The standards at the school held by the principal seem very high. I appreciate the dress code policy beingupheld and for the most part the kids seem to be very well mannered and the friends my child has seem to be good kids. I would like to see more homework andprogression in the class learning. A lot of the work seems to be reiterated from one year to the next.

Posted: 8/22/2013 by parentSchool is a tool. It your choice to use it. CLMS has been a great experience 2012-2013. And continues to be on track this year for even greater things. With thenew Core Standards occurring throughout the United States we will find placement of our children to be more in line with their grades in class. I find the teachersand staff at CLMS to be engaging and excited about teaching our children. We currently have a 6th and 7th grader attending CLMS and both of our children arehappy and thriving in this schools environment. With education of top priority in our home our children choose to use the tool that is Canyon Lake Middle School.

Posted: 2/24/2012 by parentREALLY upset about this school. The school uses state scores to place children in classes. They do not use their grades. My child was an excellent student withall A's and one B+ my child was sick during testing week but insisted that they had to do the testing, and because of low testing score was placed in lower levelclasses, the desire to stay interested in keeping academics has gone downhill. My child is now receiving C grades and not on Honor Roll any longer. I haveapproached the counselor several times just to hear that they will not adjust their policy regardless of the outcome. We are left feeling defeated and are so sad tosee how their failure to look out for the students best interest and adjust, is so negatively impacting our children and their desire to learn. There is nothing inplace at this school to teach social skills and the kids are left to their own. The school is very un-reactive to bullying and teasing. The staff is very unfriendly andunapproachable. A good majority of the teachers are very nice and do a very good job. There are another batch with a chip on their shoulder and clearly do notbelong working with these young kids.

Posted: 3/17/2011 by parentThere are no new ratings because parents do not know what to make of the changes at this school. Administration has changed several times over the last 4years. My older kids went to school here and had great experience under the leadership of Mr. Sepulveda. Now have kids in this school again and it hascompletely gone downhill! Less activities for the students, less enforcement of what they show to be their dress code, teachers spend a lot of time disciplining kidsinstead of teaching my kid. Administration doing nothing to correct the problems, just getting worse.

Posted: 5/22/2010 by parentI'd have to say that after all our 6th grader has gone through, and schools he's been too, Well I would say that the staff really understood where he was comingfrom, made his so comfortable and just loved and most of all they worked with him with his work and thought of different stratagies of teaching and let him do itin class and also used after schooll time learning and fun. Awesome

Posted: 6/28/2014 by otherThis school is HORRIBLE. I am a Junior at Temescal Canyon. For my freshman, and half of sophomore year I was a student at a high school in Temecula. Iabsolutely loved it. I then moved, and began attending Temescal. I had high hopes, but then realized this school is terrible. The staff at the school, and staff inthe district office are absolutely rude. They are so vague with the information they give you, and are very unoragized. Ive noticed all the students at Temescalget away with a LOT. Examples would be little to no homework, and practically just given a grade, its never earned. The teachers definitely do not teach asmuch, or as well as the teachers in Temecula. The counselors do little to help, and never take anything seriously and are absolutely rude. Not to mention, manyof the students are rude and stuck up, probably the result of getting away with anything and everything at this school. I do NOT recommend anyone to attend, oreven work at Temescal Canyon High School.

AVID helps to keep your grades up,binder check helps to be organize and AVID helps you study forthe SAT and ACT test to get a perfect score.

My kid got called to office for her firstbad grade in her life in a AP class because of a awful AP teacher and was questioned as to rather her parents were gun owners. Yea , and then children's services were called the kid kid thought we may be. She was not sure.

It is filled with rude kids, those who think are extremely "cool", don't plan on going to college, and are overallnot driven. They live in Canyon Hills so they believe theyre "rich". When honestly they're kidding themselves because Lake Elsinore and its surrounding areas areincredibly cheap. An appartment in LA is more than what a house is for rent in Canyon Hills The school is socially awkward and very uptight. It's really sad. Mostof these kids will still be living with their parents and wont want to move out. This school is not for those who want to achieve greatness and get accepted into acollege. The staff is rude, teachers are nice but not great, they dont push you academically they just want to be your friend. And above all the kids here areterrible. Never in my life have i seen such a group. Refrain from attending Temescal Canyon High School at all costs.

My two younger were transferred to Temescal and we are much happier.The staff are much more helpful, not demeaning to kids and in my opinion truly care about the kids. The staff at Lakeside seem to hate their jobs and take it outon the kids. Temescal's great.

The teachers are excellent, great Ap program, sports are good, lots ofextracurricular activities, etc. I would not say it is the perfect school nor do I understand what that is but I do know i received a solid education there. Doc Harris,Cari Strange, Christina Lofquist, the Williams, are some of the best teachers i have ever had. I am a student at UCLA and after hearing a lot about other districts, Irealize how fortunate I am to receive a diploma from Temescal. TCHS is a great school especially when you take advantage of all there is to offer.

Posted: 11/27/2008 by parentWe sent seven of our kids here and all participated in sports at some level be it soccer, football, cross country, track or golf and all graduated. Every one of themenjoyed the experience, and every one of them got a fair portion in return for the amount of effort they individually put forth. As for parent participation, I don'tknow of any teacher, coach or administrator who wouldn't be more effective with some support. We've never visited 'the perfect campus,' but we're proud of ourassociation with Temescal Canyon.

The new principal is a pretty cool guy whodoesn't afraid of anything, and the Senior Class councilor is a helpful person. However, the student body is less than great. In fact, they're the entire reason I hategoing here. Freshmen are antagonized by teachers and upperclassmen alike. Seniors are all arrogant fools who are given glorifying occasions like the 'SeniorWalk-in', a heretical display of a mindset that Seniors are, for some reason, above the rest of the students and that 'Freshman Suck', a common chant at all pep-rallies. Such actions are not to be condoned, especially in public school. Heresy.

The most impressive of hisnew ideas is that he is very fair and as a result many more students are joining the football team. The new Principal is 'Awesome' another great addition. I wishthis wasn't my sons last year. He is going to have many 'Great' memories.

I see incredible teachers alongside teacher's who shouldn't be teaching, but that is happening everywhere, as it is really hard toremove a teacher who is meeting the minimum requirements. I agree that we offer a top notch program for students who are doing well in school. Last year oneof our students was accepted to both Harvard and Stanford. I also agree that we need to do better in many areas. Our new principal is making good changesincluding a late-bus twice a week to allow more after school tutoring. However, his hands have been tied on many issues by the district.

Thereason is, we have a new administration. Our Principle is actively involve with school activities and always promoting school unity. I'm part of studentleadership(ASB) and I notice these changes. School pride and student involvment is the number one change. The teachers are great! If you want to channlegeyour students, then take Honors or AP classes because I have them and its excellennt.

Temescal's academic programs are good enough although we feltthere were too few offered. It has had an excellent Band program. It has AP classes but not nearly as many as some other schools. My kids have had a few verygood teachers and a few who should'nt even be in the profession. The school was very helpful toward my high grade getting child, but not helpful at all for mylow grade getter. They need an after school tutoring program for those falling through the cracks.

Posted: 3/31/2005 by parentMy son is a sophomore and this is his second year at TCHS. He is a Music Major and lettered in Band in the 9th grade. They have had some issues in Band witha teacher, but now have a long term sub my son really likes. His academic teachers for Math and Biology e-mail on a regular basis, keeping me informed of hisprogress. It is a good school, with it's usual teenage problems, but programs are available to keep your child busy enough to stay out of trouble. Compared towhat is available in the area, I highly recommend this school.

We are a wonderful school, with a great learning environment. The counselors at our school are always willing to try their hardest to fit your needs,and our new principal is exactly that-a pal.
