VETERANS DAY: This Monday, November 11th we will honor all of our veterans – living or deceased. These remarkable men and woman have served our country in the military with courage and strength. Our nations owes a debt of gratitude to them! There will only be one mass celebrated this Monday – 9 am. During the mass we will offer a special blessing to any veterans present at the mass. The parish office is closed for Veterans Day. DÍA DE LOS VETERANOS: Este lunes 11 de noviembre honraremos a todos nuestros veteranos, vivos o fallecidos. Estos notables hombres y mujeres han servido a nuestro paí s en el eje rcito con valor y fuerza. ¡Nuestras naciones tienen una deuda de gratitud con ellos! La oficina parroquial esta cerrada por el Dí a de los Veteranos. HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE AND MEETING: On Sunday, December 1st- 35 parishioners will leave for a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. We will visit many sites where Jesus walked and lived. Do you have a prayer intention? We will be collecting prayer intention on the weekend of November 23/24. Just write your special intention on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. We will have a special basket in front of the altar of the church and chapel for you to place the intention in. For those ATTENDING the pilgrimage- you are invited to attend an informational meeting on Sunday, November 24th at 3 pm in the rectory. NEW ALTAR SERVERS Would you like to assist us at mass on Sunday? We are always looking for more altar servers! We are having a special meeting for new altar servers this Saturday, November 16th at 11 am in the church! Fr Luis Gabriel and Fr Mintu will be there to register you and give you all the information about the training. Masses are offered for those living or deceased. The offering for each mass is $15. On Saturday at 5p.m.

and 7:30p.m. we offer collective intentions which means we are able to take more than one intention

for the mass. If you have any questions, please speak to one of the priests.

after the 9 am mass for the praying and studying of the scriptures. Using the coming Sundays readings we prepare our minds and hearts for the week and also grow deeper in the knowledge of God’s Word.

VISITING THE SICK The priests of the parish will visit the sick in their homes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning this month. Just call the office to make an appointment for an English or Spanish or Bengali speaking priest. The priest will offer the anointing of the sick, opportunity for confession and holy communion. Of course in emergencies the priests are available at any time.

BENGALI/BURMESE MASS These two communities gather on the

first Sunday of the month for a bilingual mass at 5 pm in the chapel. Following the mass there is a gathering with light refreshments in Heafey Hall.

The next mass will be celebrated on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 1 AT 5PM

TAGALOG MASS On the 3rd Sunday of every month mass Is celebrated in Tagalog for the Filipino

community at 5 p.m. In the chapel (Ithaca St). The next mass will be celebrated

NOVEMBER 17 AT 5PM

INDONESIAN MASS On the 4th Sunday of every month mass is

celebrated in Indonesian at 3 p.m. in the chapel Following the mass there’s always a reception in Heafey Hall. The next mass will be celebrated

NOVEMBER 24 AT 3 PM.

EVERY SUNDAY CHINESE MASS

Mass will be celebrated in Chinese every Sunday at 1:30 pm in the chapel and every Tuesday at

6:30 pm in the chapel. Our Catholic Chinese family is growing at St Bart’s and this is a great blessing for us. Fr Peter Ma has been working closely with this community and we thank him

for his efforts and hard work. Our parish continues to grow- many languages yet one

faith- brothers and sisters in the Lord.

NEED A LETTER FROM

YOUR CHURCH? In order to give letters of recommendation,

letters attesting to character, sponsor certificates, and other documents that may

have legal or religious purposes, it is required that persons requesting those

documents be registered and be active members of Saint Bartholomew Parish

at least three months prior to your request. We can not provide any of these documents to people not

registered in the parish.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION There are two times every Saturday for

confessions in the main church: 4 pm and 6:30 pm. Also Thursday at 6:30pm in the

Chapel. We now have two priests assigned during these times to make it convenient and

less time to wait. Please do your part…. come as close as possible to these confession times. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity

of God’s mercy and love.

NECESITA UNA CARTA

DE SU IGLESIA? Para poder otorgar cartas de

recomendación, de buen carácter moral, como para ser padrinos de algún sacramento

y documentos para propósitos legales o religiosos, se requiere que quienes necesitan

estos documentos, estén inscritos y sean miembros activos de la Parroquia de San Bartolomé por lo menos tres meses antes

de su solicitud. No podemos entregar ninguna certificación a las personas que

no cumplan con estos requisitos.

SACRAMENTO DE RECONCILIACIÓN Los sábados las confesiones en la

iglesia principal son a las 4 pm y 6:30 p.m., también los jueves a las 6:30 pm en la capilla.

Ahora tenemos dos sacerdotes asignados durante estos tiempos para hacerlo más

conveniente y menos tiempo para esperar. Por favor hagan su parte ...
