Background
Established in 1966 Registered charity supported by
– Central Government grants
– income generated by programme activities
– funds received for specific projects (e.g. LLAS SC) CILT’s main objectives
– to support and develop plurilingualism and intercultural competence in all sectors of the population
What do we do?
Promote languages and intercultural competence Advise and support government on policy development
and strategy implementation Make the economic case for languages Provide teacher training and professional development Support innovation Offer services and impartial brokerage to business Provide specialist and expert information/resources Support partners and practitioners at regional level Develop and promote a wide range of publications
