Awali ya yote namshukuru Mwenyezi Mungu kwa siku ya leo ambayo wengi kwa muda
mrefu tumeisubiria sana na kutukutanisha kuzindua utekelezaji wa mradi huu unaogusa
hitaji kubwa la kitaifa-ajira kwa vijana
Kwa niaba ya Plan International na washirika wake nina furaha kubwa ya kipekee kwa
kuiona sikuu ya leo ya uzinduzi wa Mradi wa Mafunzo na Elimu ya Ufundi Stadi kwa ajili ya
Vijana wetu walio katika mazingira magumu na hatarishi.

The representative from UHIKI, CODERT and CCBRT, VETA centre
principals, all Government and institutions leaders, ladies and
gentlemen the protocol is observed.
This country has valuable human resource and the youth population
continue to grow from 4.4 ml in 1990 to 8.1ml 2010. The 2012 census
records 15.7ml youth aged between 15 to 35 years. Tanzania has
approximately 800,000 youth entering job market each year. Yet
Tanzania has higher records for youth unemployment (15 – 24 years)
than 109 countries globally. Restless development studies reveals that
in 2010/11 14% youth did not complete standard VII; 44% finished
their primary education but did not transition to secondary school;
38% went to secondary but did not finish Form IV, and only 4% went
beyond O-level. This means, there is huge population 58% who does
not progress to higher learning and create enormous demand to be
enrolled in vocational studies. ILO’s school to work transitional survey
(SWTS) & Labour Demand Enterprise Survey (LDES) combined
revealed that one fifth (21.1%) of the youth in the labour force Plot #997 t

wengine wanaoishi katika mazingira magumu na hatarishi kutoka wilaya tisa za mikoa ya Dar es Salaam,
Mtwara, Lindi, Morogoro na ……………...
Alipongeza Umoja wa Nchi za Ulaya(EU) kwa kuendelea kufadhili shughuli mbalimbali za maendeleo
hapa nchini na kuyashukuru mashirika ya Plan International Plan International (Tanzania) ,Volunteer
Services Oversees (VSO Tanzania),VETA na wadau wengine kama Wizara ya Elimu na Mafunzo ya
Ufundi, Wizara ya Kazi na Ajira,Wizara ya Habari,Vijana,Utamaduni na Michezo,, Shirika la
UHIKI,CODERT na CCBRT.
Kaimu Mkurugenzi wa Plan International, Bw. Geradi Magashi, alisema uzinduzi wa mradi huu ni
mojawapo ya sehemu ya Mpango Mkakati wake 2015- 2020 unaolenga kuwezesha kila mtoto na kijana
wafikie malengo ya ndoto na uwezo wao katika jamii.
Kwa upande wake, Mkrugenzi wa VSO alisema shirika lake linajivunia kuwa sehemu ya utekelezaji wa
mradi huo utakaonufaisha vijana hao Zaidi ya 9000 kufikia malengo yao kupitia ujuzi watakaoupata
unaoendana na mahitaji ya soko .
Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Veta Tanzania, Eng. Zebadiah Moshi alisema kwamba mafunzo ya ufundi stadi
yamelenga kuwafikia vijana husika katika maeneo wananayoishi (Outreach) na wengine watapelekwa
kujifunza kwa vitendo huku akiwaasa vijana kutumia vyema fursa hiyo waliyoipata.
Naye Mkuu wa Ushirikiano wa Umoja wa Ulaya (EU) Bw. Eric Beaume alisema EU inaamini maeneo
muhimu ya kuwekeza ni maeneo yanayohusu matarajio ya nchi na kwamba Umoja huo unasikia fahari
kutoa msaada kwa vijana wa mijini na vijijini kupitia mafunzo, mikopo kwa vikundi na kuwaunganisha na
soko la ajira.
