of American high school seniors are proficient in mathematics and interested in a STEM career.

The United States is falling behind internationally, ranking 25th in mathematics and 17th in science among industrialized nations. In our competitive global economy, this situation is unacceptable.

2/3 of high school math students and 1/3 of those enrolled in physical science have teachers who did not major in the subject in college or are not certified to teach it.

Access to great teaching can close these gaps. You can transform challenge into opportunity. We need exemplary math and science teachers to inspire the next generation of thinkers, engaged citizens, and problem-solvers.

“My clinical instructor

provided me with the

knowledge and skills I need

to succeed during my first

year. My coaches provided

feedback and were always

available when I needed them.

I enjoyed being a part of a

cohort that I could bond with

and share my strengths and

struggles. The school where

I was placed welcomed me as

one of their own, and I feel

very well prepared.”
