Information about the Project:

Main Aim: social adaptation of the children, who suffer from ATO. Protection of maternity and childhood.

Target Audience:

Children, who have lost father/mother or both in the ATO.

Children, whose fathers are in captivity or are missing.

Forcibly displaced children.

Children, who suffer from ATO in any other way.

Implementation Area: Sumy region, Ukraine.

Social Necessity of the project:

Psychological adaptation of the children, who have suffered from ATO in any way.

Organization of leisure, assistance in self-determination.

Providing with safe living conditions, protection of human rights and interests through free of charge legal assistance.

Increasing of material security of the families.

Assistance in human resources distribution.

Content

Project’s Description:

Main idea: creation of database of the children (vide ante “Target Audience”).

Main aim: integration of the family abroad with the family, who has suffered from ATO.

Organization of educational/recreational trips per month.

Providing with any available humanitarian assistance (approximately once in a month).

Organization of psychological and social rehabilitation for the families through the evenings of communication “Family Circle”. It will be held once in two weeks at the holiday village/in the building of the charitable fund/on the landscape.

Free of charge hippotherapy will be provided every weekend. Duration: 10-15 min. per child.

Organization of art-days/workshops every second weekend of the month. Art-days/workshops include dancing, music, English speaking lessons, hand-made, sport activities etc.

Families of the project will receive legal aid from “The Centre of Social and Legal Aid to Combatants and ATO Participants”.

Positive Changes to Achieve:

Psychological assistance:

Children will undergo the hippotherapy treatment. It will develop them physically, counteract negative social influence. Hippotherapy is traditional therapy of psychological rehabilitation.

“Family Circle” will provide families with external social and psychological assistance. It will influence positively the nervous state. Members of the families will overcome the feeling of aloofness, loneliness. They will meet new people to communicate and to share common problems.

Organization of leisure, assistance in self-determination:

Days of art/workshops will help to determine children`s major interests. It will help in self-determination and broad child`s outlook. It will improve motor skills, brain activity.

Educational/recreational trips will be provided (e.g. to the ostrich farm). It will broad child`s outlook, help to rid of stereotypical thinking, unite children, increase the level of self-organization and responsibility.

Patriotic evenings will be organized. They will help child`s self-identification as a conscious Ukrainian, inheritor of Ukrainian culture and history. These evenings will improve their knowledge in Ukrainian culture and history, improve Ukrainian language skills.

Families of the project will receive free of charge legal assistance from “The Centre of Social and Legal Aid to Combatants and ATO Participants”.

The families of the project will get humanitarian assistance once in a month from the “Ukraine Chemnitz Europa” (partners of the project) and international charitable foundation “Ukrainian Sunrise” (“Український Світанок”) and other potential organizations.

Families will be able to take part in public activities.

Free of charge legal aid is provided to the families of the project.

Humanitarian aid from our partners is provided to the participants of the project.

“Sagacitas-Ukraine” is supported by “ToyDrive” (the program of the non-profit organization of Ukrainian diaspora “Razom for Ukraine”).

Hippotherapy is free for the families every weekend.

Every 3rd Saturday families gather for common leisure time. Different kinds of activities are provided.
