Progress Tracker – our philosophy

Progress Tracker is designed to

• Work with your existing SIMS MIS, so that data is kept safe.

• Give back to teachers ownership of the data.

• Allow teachers to see the whole school picture, not just their part in it.

• Provide school leaders with useful analyses, not pretty colours.

[email protected]

Progress Tracker – components

• Use SIMS to manage pupils, groups and NC assessments and as the backup store for pupil assessments.

• Use Progress Tracker for teachers to record NC assessments. Provide instant feedback through charts and printouts to help teachers monitor each child’s progress.

• Use Progress Tracker Review Module to provide managers with cohort and pupil group analyses for review and evaluation.

Josh is in year 5. His termly Reading (En2) progress is visible to his teacher from the first time anyone assessed Josh. The dotted lines join the KS1 TA with the Fischer B and D estimates for KS2 Reading. This gives the teacher a “Track line” for comparison

[email protected]

Soft Curriculum - Josh’s progress can also be plotted against school-defined criteria. The staff together agrees what would be useful to assess (e.g. wellbeing, disposition, attitude, attendance) and their interpretation criteria for the values in the range 1 to 5. Has Josh’s level of engagement affected his progress?

Review Module

Managers pick up the full pupil assessment history for all pupils to date, including a range of other contextual data from SIMS that enables deeper analysis of performance.
