Biometric Mirror is a research project to explore attitudes towards facial analysis and automated decision-making.
Data captured by the cameras and displayed on the screen is anonymised and securely transmitted. All data is erased irreversibly upon terminating interactions. Data cannot be used to personally identify you or passers-by. You can step out of the camera frame to make all information disappear from the screen immediately.
The research is being conducted by researchers at Interaction Design Lab at the University of Melbourne, with support from Science Gallery Melbourne.
