Special Event Permit

City of Parkland www.cityofparkland.org page 10

The City of Parkland’s Code of Ordinances provides the framework and guidance for the issuance of Special Events Permits within the City of Parkland. In general, any organized activity impacting city services or involving the use of, or having an impact on, public property, public facilities, sidewalks, medians or street areas requires a permit. Please remember that Special Events cannot be advertised until after the permit process has been completed and you receive an approved permit.

If you plan to hold your event in a CityPark, you need to contact Scott Davidoffin the Parks and Recreation Department, at (954) 757-4126 in order to reserve the specific facility you are requesting. Submitting the Special Events Permit Application does not guarantee site availability. Permits may not be submitted more than 6 months in advance, or less than 30 days from the event.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact federal, state or county agencies for other relevant permits. The non-refundable fee for the Special Event Permit is $140; non-profit organizations are exempt from this fee. Other City fees may apply depending on the type of event. A deposit may be required if the costs of supplying City services exceeds $1,000. Please note that there may be additional fees required for the use of City facilities.

On behalf of the City of Parkland, we thank you for contributing to the spirit and vitality of our City through the staging of your event. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (954) 757-4105.

What’s New?

City of Parkland www.cityofparkland.org page 15

Construction begins on Phase IV at Pine Trails Park!Pine Trails Park is growing! The City of Parkland broke ground on

Phase IV of Pine Trails Park expansion October 1. During this phase the park will include four new multipurpose fields, additional parking, a

wetland area, a baseball wheel, and a concession stand with attached restroom and storage. It will be constructed on the remaining thirty

(30) acres at the southeast corner of Pine Island Road and Nob Hill Road. It is anticipated that the project will be completed towards the

middle to the end of next year (2015). Pine Trails Park currently has five multipurpose fields, four tee ball fields, two basketball courts, a playground and a fishing pier. Also located in Pine Trails Park is the

YMCA and the Amphitheater. This last phase of expansion is specifically designed to accommodate the high growth in youth sport leagues within the City of Parkland.

With the growth of the City, the Parks system will continue to grow as well. It was only eleven years ago when all sports activities were able to take place at Terramar Park and Quigley Park. As the City’s popula-tion has grown so have the parks. Nowhere is this more evident than through the growth of Pine Trails Park. With the current and future

growth, the parks will continue to grow. An expansion of Pine Trails Park, enhancements to existing facilities, new and larger special events, and new park space within the Wedge

are elements that are coming to the City of Parkland to meet the needs and wants of the community. From a very modest beginning the Parks within the City of Parkland have grown along with the resi-

dent to be something truly special.

We ask that you please pardon our dust as we continue to expand Pine Trails Park. Upon completion of this phase Pine Trails Park will

span over 90 acres! We cannot wait to see the finished product!
