Following the steps of my late father Mr. Ali K. An area for containers handling and storage with a total area of 100,000 m2 with multi functional covered storages and ancillary buildings. One of the innovations we did in this project was using the precast interlock concrete pavement tiles for paving all storage areas especially containers stalking yard. This innovation was accepted and approved by the General Company for Ports of Iraq and the client after thorough analysis with the University of Basrah.

Construction of interlock paved (150,000) m2 area for containers stacking. The project included construction of all operation building and services along with perimeter security fence.

GCPI required a Control tower in UM Qaser Port. The total height of the concrete tower is 45 m with an observation chamber on top equipped with communication system, telescope system and radar unit.The project consists also all services structures and an office area along with lodging quarters for the officials.

Construction of two berths in Um Qaser Port / Basrah with a total length of 370 m. equipped with a active cathodic protection system, storage sheds, ancillary buildings and services and unloading crane rail.

Basrah Mas was selected as a sole main contractor to International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) to construct three berths at their Basra Gateway Terminal (BGT) in Um Qaser Port.Phase 1 of the project consists of; 1.Berth 27 of (208X30) m, 2. Power house, 3. Electrical substation4. 11Kv transmission line, 5. Access road from Um Qaser south port, 6. Administration building7. Water treatment plant ,8. 150,000 m2 interlock paved are for storage, 9. Road network and fencing10. Fire house, 11. Workshop, 12. Cathodic protection system.

Basrah Mas was contracted by Prime power on behalf of GCPI to desgin and construct a 10" main gas pipeline feeder of 15 km length to feed Umm Qaser gas fired power plant.Feeding capacity 25 mmscf/day along with all inplant feeding connections. All field inspection is car-ried out by Oil Pipeline Company. A major crossing of 150 ML is foreseen in this project conducted by HDD technique.

One of the plans of the Directorate of Roads and Bridges is to construct this bridge so it may help in reduce the traffic congestion in mid Basrah and to ease crossing the Shat Al Arab river so as to serve the east bank of it. The total length of the bridge is 450M with single carriageway of 4.5 M width.The river approaches were constructed as jetty structure while the middle parts of the bridge were constructed on raft form barges to ease up collapsing while navigational traffic.

The park is plotted on an area of (17000 m2), equipped with an up to date playing machines. Making use of the waterway aside of the park there are many water sports activities like jet skiing and speed boats tours. The area before reclamation was a dump area which hosted at a time many insurgent activities.
