Personal Profile: Nationality: Qatari

Marital Status: Married Haifa Al-Buainain is a Professor at the Department of English Literature and Linguistics, at Qatar University. She has a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh. She was the Head of English Department at University of Qatar from 1999- 2002. She was a member of the High Supreme Council of Arabic Institute of Translation from 2003 to 2006. She has refereed publications in international journals and conference proceedings in different areas of linguistics. She has been teaching linguistic courses as well as ESL/EFL courses for more than 15 years. She was a member of Qatar University Faculty Senate.
