1. Use “attorney” rather than “lawyer” or “associate” to describe your title on LinkedIn.

2. Add a profile picture.

3. Update your LinkedIn status at least once each week.

4. Aim for 500+ LinkedIn connections.

5. Customize LinkedIn invitations.

6. Understand the risks associated with LinkedIn Endorsements and how to remove this section from your LinkedIn profile.

7. Don’t abuse the “mention” feature.

8. Keep your Twitter Lists “private” but your Twitter Profile “public.”
