Installation Notes:

• Wood is a natural material with varying grain and colorcharacteristics, making each installation uniquely beautiful.Characteristics may vary from panel to panel. If desired, for greatervisual consistency, the products should be laid out and arranged inadvance of installation to achieve the desired effect. All productsshould be reviewed before installation to avoid undesirable visualpattern because of natural color and grain variations.

• Wood panels must be acclimatized for 72 hours prior to installation.Maintain relative humidity between 25%and 55% and temperaturebetween 50°F and 86°F (10°C and 30°C) for the life of the product,unless otherwise noted in order, quote, and submittal documents.

• Fixtures and MEP devices to be hung independently from ceilingsupport system. Fixtures and MEP devices may include but are notlimited to: light fixtures, HVAC diffusers, sprinkler heads and/or piping,speakers, security cameras, components, décor, etc.

• Reflected ceiling drawings will include penetrations of limited lightfixtures and HVAC registers only when the size of the wood is impacted.Other penetrations, including but not limited to sprinklers, securitycameras audio-visual, etc., Are typically not included in the drawing setas placement and code requirements vary by product and jurisdiction.5. Fixtures and MEP devices shown are for reference only; unlessotherwise noted all fixtures and MEP devices by others.

• Contractor to follow CISCA guidelines for suspension systeminstallation. Wood ceilings are typically heavier than other ceilingproducts. Follow manufacturer load requirements and installationspecifications based on the weights and dimensions of product beinginstalled.• All field cut products must be sealed with a clear sealer or stainedthen sealed.• See Product Detail Sets for edge condition details.

Seismic Notes:For installations in seismic design categories D, E, or F the maximumsystem weight for acoustical suspension systems is 2.5 lbs. per squarefoot. ICC-ES ESRs, like CertainTeed Architectural ICC-ES ESR-3336, areavailable covering installations in seismic design categories D, E, & F anddefine installations including seismic installations for system weights up to4.0 lbs. per square foot. These are the maximum allowable weightsregardless of hanger wire placement without special engineeringapproved by local code jurisdiction officials. Seismic design category Cinstallations > 2.5 lbs. per square foot must follow installation requirementsfor seismic design categories D, E, & F. CertainTeed does not supplyacoustical suspension system details or layouts for systems exceeding 4.0lbs. per square foot.
