JSS Academy of Technical Education, Bangalore isa premier educational institution run by the JSSMahavidyapeetha, Mysore. The Mahavidyapeethashelters over 350 institutions, both at home andabroad. The JSSATE campus is spread over 21acres of land surrounded by lush green plantationon the south western part of Bangalore city. Theinstitution established in 1997 conducts sevenunder-graduate programmes, four post-graduateprogrammes in VLSI, MEM, PDM and MBA. Thewhole campus is networked and has centralizedbrowsing facility with 4MBPS dedicated internetbandwidth with ISDN backup and Wi-Fi facility.The departments of Mechanical Engineering, IEM,Instrumentation Technology & MBA are recognizedresearch centres under VTU, Belgaum. Theinstitution also houses an Advanced JewelleryDesign Technology Centre and Product LifecycleManagement Competency Centre in technicalcollaboration with Dassault Systemes France,Ministry of Education, France and JSSMahavidyapeetha, Mysore.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering wasestablished in 2004 with an intake of 60 studentsaffiliated to VTU, Belgaum and is recognized byAICTE, New Delhi. The department has qualifiedand experienced teaching faculty with state of theart infrastructure, and modern teaching aidscatering to the needs of VTU curriculum. It alsohas a Research and Development Centrerecognized by VTU, Belgaum.

Micromatic Machine Tools & its group, is arenowned manufacturer of an array of productssuch as Turning Machines, Milling Machines,Grinding Machines, Automation Machines andProductivity Solutions Machines. They develophighly quality products by using best raw materialsto fulfill the market demand.

M/s. CADEM Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore wasstarted in 1989 & has a range of products formonitoring and improving the productivity ofmanufacturing industries, programming andprogram transfer for CNC machines and training

on CNC machining technology. All products aredesigned and developed by CADEM Technologiesinhouse. CADEM Technologies are pioneers indeveloping and marketing of CNC turning andmilling simulation software. Many technicalinstitutes in India and abroad use CADEM productsto study CNC programming and Computer AidedProgramming as part of their syllabus.

The main objective of this program is to enlighten

the participants on the teaching methodology and

hands on experience for CNC turning, CNC milling

and simulation software. This course helps to

acquire insight into the subject and create interest

in students of engineering. Another objective is to

motivate the faculty to pursue higher studies and

research in the field of CNC machines.

We also recognize recent trend in the industry of

an upsurge requirement for the engineers to face

the global challenges in the productivity. An

efficient knowledge of CNC machines and the

programming concepts will enhance the

potentiality of the engineer to face the global

challenges in the manufacturing industry for

improving productivity. There is a renewed need

for quality engineers with sound knowledge of

machines and CNC programming. This course will

equip the faculty to train their students to meet

the challenges of the growing aerospace and

automobile sectors. Department of Mechanical

Engineering, JSSATE has launched an initiative in

this direction to organize the event through this

course.

The course content is designed to impart

knowledge on CNC turning & milling operations

like simple turning, step turning, taper, profile,

thread cutting, grooving, internal machining,

surface milling, side milling, drilling, counter bore,

tapping, pocketing, etc., using CADEM software.

The resource personalities for the course are from

M/s. Micromatic Machine Tools and M/s. CADEM

Technologies having vast knowledge and

experience on CNC Technologies.

Teachers from AICTE recognized engineering

colleges, Polytechnics, research scholars working

in R&D organizations and working professionals

from industries in the relevant field are eligible to

apply for participation.
