Week 6:26 th march Core book; I love animals/ Egg to Chicken Events: Easter- watch “Let’s Celebrate”. Songs and Rhymes: Old MacDonald Early Phonics: The Silly soup alliteration game! Maths: Counting-securely to 5 or 10, finding the right number of objects on request, count accurately. Key activities: Literacy/EAD: Making Easter cards and Easter Nests The World: learning about the basic life cycle of a hen. Learning Easter how it is celebrated in different countries. Week 5: 19 th March Core books: The Little Red hen Songs and Rhymes: Little Red hen song! Key activities: Literacy: Taking part in the language of traditional tales. Making a story map. Early Phonics: The rhyming game- hen, ten, pen Maths: Counting-securely to 5 or 10, finding the right number of objects on request, count accurately. The World: Making bread! Tasting bread form around the world-Zed’s Bread-pittas, bagels, naan etc EAD: Prime Areas-PSE: I can play cooperatively, often taking turns and sharing. I can take turns in a simple game without help. I know and anticipate the daily routines at Nursery. I can share my ideas and thoughts in a familiar group. Early Phonics; Match the sound maker games Maths: Count, order by size, weigh veggies. The World: Studying vegetables, cutting them up- finding seeds/stalks-studying them with magnifying glasses. Finding out how and where they grow using the internet & non-fiction books. EAD: Make real soup/pretend soup. Make veggie prints. Start a garden centre shop outdoors/ a vegetable shop indoors.- count, order by size, weigh veggies. Week 2: 26 th February Core book: The Very Hungry Caterpillar Songs/Rhymes: Caterpillar song Key activities: Literacy: Make our own books “The Very Hungry.. !” Runaway pancake story. Early Phonics: Listening carefully games Maths: Which fruit we like the best voting chart . Days of the week- simple daily timeline. The World: Studying fruit, sketch tem, taste them. Where do they come from? Panacke day- taste with fruit toppings. EAD: Continue from last week Week 3: 5 th March Core book: Aagh spider! Songs/Rhymes: Incy Wincy Key activities: Literacy: Non-fiction books about spiders, draw spiders and webs with speech bubbles! Early Phonics: Voice sounds games. Maths: Repeat days of the week/times of day. The world: Go on a bug hunt, with a nature spotter list, pour water dowb gutters and test which is best. EAD: Make spiders and weave some webs outdoors and on plates, glitter webs. Week 4: 12 th March Core book: The Frog Prince Songs/Rhymes:5 Little speckled frogs Key activities: Literacy: Becoming familiar with Traditional Fairy Tales. Early Phonics: The rhyming game- frog, bog, log dog Maths: Counting-securely to 5 or 10, finding the right number of objects on request, count accurately. The World: Learn about the basic tadpole to frog life cycle.-watch a film clip, non-fiction texts. EAD: Splat frog pictures! Making crowns- dressing up as royalty! Nursery Spring Term 2 2018: “The Garden” Specific areas include: Maths, Literacy, The World & Expressive Arts and Design. I can form some recognisable letters in my name/start forming them correctly. I am starting to use a pencil near the point between my thumb and two fingers. I have good gross motor skills: I can jump off low benches and land safely with two feet, I can skip, hop, crawl, tummy crawl and roll, I can stop and start on cue safely. I can aim balls and beanbags at targets. I can throw and catch a ball. Prime Area-Communication: I can stay on topic in short discussions. I am starting to ask questions in small group times. I can answer questions- giving answers that are on the right track. I can listen to others with good attention to the end of their talk. I can wait my turn to speak. I am able to keep play going with my peers using talk. I am using my words to express myself with more detail. I am starting to use a wider range of descriptive words. I am confident in giving instructions, suggesting, leading play activities.
