The 19th amendment was passed in 1919 and was officially adopted on August 26 1920. Let us remember that the path to equality (for women or any minority or marginalized group) unfortunately, is neither a straight line or guaranteed at all. We must fight to keep the gains we and our ancestors have made. If we encourage women to take part in governance, whether that be within the Women’s Club, at local, District, State or Federal level. Also, local School Boards, Hospital Boards local politics etc. We can en- sure that our voices are heard only if we participate. If we encourage our daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters to think about issues appropriate for their age we will honor those women before us that fought for OUR rites. I am sorry I missed our November General Meeting. The speaker, our CFWC First Vice President Pam Ament was a big hit I have been told by a number of those that attended. December 2019

Giving Thanks In 1919 women gained the right to vote after decades of struggle, many suffering physical abuse, incarceration and sometimes being forcibly fed. We can en-sure that our voices are heard only if we participate.
