□ Trade Association since 2002□Members are UKAS-accredited Air Tightness Testing

ORGANISATIONS□ Currently Affiliated to BINDT (British Institute of Non Destructive

Testing)□ 15 member firms (circa 100 testing staff in total)□Members acknowledged by all UK stakeholders as being

competent to test any building type□ ATTMA produces and maintains the air-tightness testing

methodology documents that have to be complied with for UK Building Regulations air-tightness testing purposes.

Challenges□ Apathy – made worse by Recession - & Ignorance□ By Government, Inspectors (BCBs), Builders, Owners□ Lack of Effective Tester Regulation□Many Testers are Certified Individuals. Their Company’s are

NOT regulated □ Test Results are not published – therefore not open to

scrutiny and challenge□ ATTMA is not the “Competent Person Scheme” Operator for

Air Tightness Testing… BINDT is.
