The Danish Research Network of International Health
Established in 1996Danida-funded scientific and technical
forum working with health related research and development in low-income countries
Overall objective of the network is to strengthen dialogue between research and development assistance
Health Network Activities
Serving as a one-stop contact to the Danish health researchers and their counterparts in programme countries
Promoting the participation of researchers in programme planning and implementation
Holding seminars to disseminate and discuss research needs and use in the health sector
Developing policy briefsKeeping network members updated
Challenges
Ensuring that researchers and practitioners communicate in an integrated manner
Ensuring that needs for research is not identified in isolation
Lack of dialogue during the research process
Lack of timely feedback from the researcher
Opportunities
An opportunity to establish dialogue between different sectors and players
A network provides a common platform and can strengthen the development of a more strategic approach
Research and practice can have a much greater impact
