Description
‘Bring-in sites’ adaption idea was inspired by the Vienna solution.
They are a complement for Civic Amenity Sites’ functioning.
In the Municipality of Krakow ~700 ‘Bring-in sites’ are located.

Implemantation
• realises the handling

The frequency of collecting waste
from ‘Bring-in sites’ depends on the
waste accumulation in containers.
Some of them are emptied daily.

Main difficulties encountered
• Cases of lack of education in selective waste collection in ‘Bring-in sites’ – users contaminate the selective fractions by throwing wrong waste to the container
• Occasional ‘Bring-in sites’ acts of vandalism, which are recorded by the Municipality of Krakow
• Putting waste around the container, which can cause difficulties in their collection

Summary ‘Bring-in sites’ are a complement for Civic Amenity Sites’ functioning.
The system:
ensures a collection of selective waste fractions like: paper, plastic,
metal and glass,
increases the availability of selective waste collection services for
inhabitants,
contributes to the increase of the ‘selective waste fractions recycling
and preparation for reuse’ rate.
