Anything that can belong to Snoopy’s dog house is a preposition.

Prepositional Phrase

A prepositional phrase begins with a preposition and ends with a noun or pronoun, which is called the object of the preposition.

It may also contain modifiers.

Example 1: We walked behind the old shed.

Example 2: He would not go near the lake or the ruins.

Preposition or Adverb?

Note: Some prepositions can also be adverbs. They are prepositions when they are part of a

prepositional phrase. They are adverbs when they stand alone.

Preposition We wanted to keep the dog inside the house.
