•Complete any 11 UC- approved “a-g” courses prior to senior year
•Complete all 15 courses “a-g” subject pattern by the end of senioryear
•Must be completed with a C or better
•Based on “a-g” courses completed in 10th and 11th grades, including summer course

● Get involved, showcase your talents!
● High school can be stressful so it is important for students to have balance in their
lives
● Make time for family, friends, recreation, activities.
● Essays/ Personal Insight questions will ask you to reflect on personal experiences
and extracurricular involvement.
● Keep track of your volunteer / community service hours (not required for graduation
but highly desired for college admission and scholarships).
● Connect with your teachers and school counselor- they will write your letters of
recommendation.

Things to look forward to…
BCAP (Spring)- in partnership with our English department, all juniors will complete
comprehensive step by step project where they will receive numerous workshops on:
College research/exploration process, college essay writing, resume builder, and
complete a student/ parent questionnaire to be used for letters of recommendation.
Coffee Chats with counselors: Sophomore January 24; Junior January 25
College and College Fair- Tustin High School November 6, 2017
Military visits throughout the year- register on Naviance and visit the Career Center
