Brief history

Socorex Isba SA, often referred toas just Socorex, was first founded inthe late 1940s. Two youngwatchmakers had identified the needfor new types of quality syringes formedical applications. The productsrapidly met international success.

In search for synergies, the companymerged with another firm a fewyears later.

Renamed Socorex Isba S.A., the newentity moved to Lausanne on LakeGeneva in 1960.

Its growth, particulary in thelaboratory field, soon forced thecompany out of the city to itstoday’s larger, expandable facilityin Ecublens, home of the FederalInstitute of Technology (EPFL) andUniversity of Lausanne (UNIL).

Long working autonomy

The NiMH battery pack is located in thepower handle. It can be removed andchanged in a second. New 4.8V tensionenables fast battery charging (< 1.5hours) and provides extended workingautonomy (> 3000 consecutivepipetting cycles). When unused, theAcura® electro automatically goes on energy saving stand-by.

Calibration

Control software provides for instant access to calibration menu.Adjustments are performed directlyon the instrument’s keyboard.Any inaccurate plunger movement isdetected by the microprocessor whichwarns user by an error message.

Pipette charging stand

Brief history

Socorex Isba SA, often referred toas just Socorex, was first founded inthe late 1940s. Two youngwatchmakers had identified the needfor new types of quality syringes formedical applications. The productsrapidly met international success.

In search for synergies, the companymerged with another firm a fewyears later.

Renamed Socorex Isba S.A., the newentity moved to Lausanne on LakeGeneva in 1960.

Its growth, particulary in thelaboratory field, soon forced thecompany out of the city to itstoday’s larger, expandable facilityin Ecublens, home of the FederalInstitute of Technology (EPFL) andUniversity of Lausanne (UNIL).

Today’s manufacturing programmeincludes a wide variety of highprecision instruments used for reliablymeasuring, dosing, transferring,dispensing and injecting liquids in a large number of applications.

Manual and electronic micropipettes,multichannel pipettors, repeaterpipettes, dispensers, pipettecontrollers and re-usable syringes,together with their accessories,constitute the heart of the programme.

Each precision instrument bears itsown serial number and passes a strictperformance control attested by anindividual QC certificate.
