For those who are unfamiliar with Mission Endowment, here is an explana on of what it is.
EMMANUEL MISSION ENDOWMENT:
The Emmanuel Mission Endowment is a fund established to manage designated and non‐designated gi s intended to provide an ongoing benefit for the ministry of the church and her mission work. The Mission Endowment is a standing Commi ee of the ELC Council. The assets of the Emmanuel Mission Endowment are owned by the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Moscow, Idaho. The Mission Endowment Commi ee is responsible for all Mission Endowment leadership and management ac vi es. Its major objec ves are to encourage, accept, acknowledge, invest, and make distribu ons from the Mission Endowment at the direc on and approval of the Council and congrega on. The Commi ee works with other standing commi ees, Council, and the congrega on to iden fy, screen, and recommend mission work and projects that may receive funding as directed by the congrega on.
On All Saint’s Sunday, November 1, 2015, the Emmanuel Congrega on:
joins together for a Potluck Celebra on during
Fellowship Hour; votes on which Mission groups will be awarded
financial support, and; honors a specific person, or persons, who are
outstanding in their contribu ons to Emmanuel’s mission and ministries.

spiritual status and that of America today.
Session 1: Moses, Pharaoh, the Prophets and Us Session 2: The Prophets as Uncreden aled Purveyors of Covenant Session 3: Moral Coherence in a World of Power, Money and Violence Session 4: The Shrill Rhetoric that Breaks Denial Session 5: The Grief of Loss as Divine Judgment Session 6: The Promissory Language that Breaks Despair

Sunday’s Scripture Segments Scripture readings for Sunday, October 11, 2015,
The Twen eth Sunday a er Pentecost:
Amos 5:6‐7, 10‐15 Amos was a herdsman by profession and a prophet by God’s call. During a me of great
prosperity in the northern kingdom of Israel, the prophet speaks to the wealthy upper class. He warns his listeners that fulfilling God’s demand for jus ce brings blessing,
while corrup on and oppression incur God’s wrath.
Hebrews 4:12‐16 We cannot hide our thoughts, desires, and ac ons from God, to whom we are completely
accountable. Nevertheless, Jesus understands our human weakness and tempta ons, because he also experienced them. Therefore we can approach the throne of grace
to receive divine mercy from Christ.
Mark 10:17‐31 Jesus has been teaching his disciples about what is most valued in God’s eyes. Now, a conversa on with a rich man brings his message home to the disciples
in a way that is surprising but unforge able.
Sermon Title: “ And all the children are above average.” by Pastor Dave Daugs
