10. Engine Real Time Display

NOTE: This may be used for advanced troubleshooting.

A. Aircraft Central Maintenance Computer (CMC)

(1) The instructions for monitoring engine parameters in real time are contained in theAircraft Maintenance Manual (Ref. AMM). The aircraft CMC can be used tocompare data from all 3 engines simultaneously.

11. Engine Trim Initialization

CAUTION: EXCHANGING DCU’S FROM ONE ENGINE TO ANOTHER WILL CAUSE THEINCORRECT TRIMS TO BE LOADED ON THE ENGINE. IF THIS OCCURSREMOVE THE DCU AND RE-INITIALIZE.

NOTE: 1. When the EEC is replaced, the EEC will automatically update its own trims, andoperational data from the DCU.

NOTE: 2. When the DCU is replaced with a new unit, the EEC will automatically initialize theDCU.

A. DCU Initialization

NOTE: This procedure can be used if:

(1) Both EEC and DCU are required to be removed and replaced from an engine,

(2) After a shop visit (new, unscheduled, or overhaul), to update the usage information,

(3) When the engine is installed onto the aircraft.

(4) If DCU cable (PWC40549) was used:

(a) Remove the DCU from the engine (Ref. 77-40-01, DATA COLLECTION UNIT -MAINTENANCE PRACTICES).
