  • Welcome from our CEO\ Thanks for taking the time to read about what it means to join the Cord family. The Fundraising Manager position advertised is a key role in our organisation and provides a rewarding opportunity for someone looking to take on a new challenge. Cord was started in Leamington Spa back in 1967 by a small group of Christians who felt compelled to act in response to the desperate images they were seeing on their televisions of the Vietnam War. For over 50 years now, Cord has worked across Africa and South-East Asia to strengthen relationships in order to see people live in greater freedom from poverty, oppression and injustice. The focus of our global strategy is on transforming dysfunctional relationships between those in power and citizens (like you or I), into those that create peaceful and inclusive societies where everyone can live free from fear and with the freedom to flourish. You can read more about ‘promoting the power of peaceful relationships’ by following this link Our current country portfolio focuses on 5 highly sensitive & oppressive contexts - Burundi, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar & Vietnam

  • We work with a wide range of civil society groups and powerholders (authorities, multi-national businesses, faith leaders) in order to develop more constructive engagement. This leads to real transformative change such as… - survivors of sexual violence accessing justice - excluded & stigmatised groups gaining access to healthcare - indigenous peoples regaining rights to their land - religious and ethnic minorities gaining freedom to express their

beliefs to name a few… Having launched our new strategy at the end of 2018, this is an exciting time to be joining Cord. You will be joining a small but committed team of people who are passionate about seeing deep-rooted and lasting change. Your role will be working with a loyal and committed UK supporter base consisting of individuals, churches, trusts and other groups that donate over £0.25M annually. In partnership with the CEO, you will be tasked with developing Cord’s approach to legacy fundraising and corporate donor engagement and you will oversee a trust fundraiser to grow income from trusts. This role would suit someone with understanding across different funding streams and/or who is enthusiastic to drive their own learning of different types of fundraising and above all who is motivated to help maintain and grow Cord’s supporter base.

If you like what you read and are passionate about making a real and lasting difference, come and join us and be part of the Cord story.

    Andy Pask Cord CEO
