LARGER WAFERS TRENDINGWith continuous development in solar ingots and wafers, cells are getting larger and larger. However, in the context of the entire value chain, 'the bigger the better' is not a foregone conclusion. After several rounds of calculation and analysis, we believe that 166mm is the most promising format for the long-term.

The surface area of M6 cell has been increased by 12% than M2, which helps reduce module production cost by 0.003USD/ W.

Compared to G1, M6 cell production cost is reduced by 0.065USD / W.

With166mm large silicon wafers, 72-cell module gains additional 50W output. In addition, 9BB can bring 5-10W power increase.

SERAPHIM NEW 16MM HALF-CELL MODULE

THE AMALGAMATION OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES Seraphim redefined the high-efficiency module series by integrating 166mm silicon wafers with multi-busbar and half-cut cell technologies. The maximum module efficiency of the new 166 half-cell series is 20%, and the maximum power output is 445W.

ADDITIONAL ENERGY YIELD FROM BIFACIAL The new 166mm half-cell modules are capable of converting energy from incident light and diffused light on the front side, while converting energy from reflected light and scattered light on rear sides. Thus these modules have higher yield and superior low irradiance performance. We managed to improve the module bifaciality rate up to 70 ± 5%, resulting in a theoretical maximum power of 579W, which can significantly reduce a project’s LCOE.
