PROGRAM FACULTY

Prof. Steve Eppinger is the Professor of Management Science & Engineering Systems as well as the Co-director for the System Design & Management Program. His research efforts are applied to improving product design and development practices. Conducted within MIT's Center for Innovation in Product Development, his work focuses on organizing complex design processes in order to accelerate industrial practices, and has been applied primarily in the automotive, electronics, aerospace, and equipment industries.

STEVE EPPINGER General Motors Leaders for Global Operations Professor of Management

Vijay Govindarajan, known as VG, is the Coxe Distinguished Professor at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business and a Marvin Bower Fellow at Harvard Business School. VG–a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author—is an expert on strategy and innovation. He was the first professor in Residence and Chief Innovation Consultant at General Electric. In the Thinkers50 rankings, VG is rated #1 Indian Management Thinker.

VIJAY GOVINDARAJAN COXE Distinguished Professor of Management

Professor Johar is an influential scholar in the field of consumer psychology who has published several articles and cases on consumer adoptions of new products, on marketing and on advertising. Her expertise in persuasion, marketing and consumer psychology makes her uniquely qualified to lead a program on product development and innovation. She has received her PhD from the NYU Stern School of Business.

GITA JOHAR Meyer Feldberg Professor of Business

Jacob Goldenberg is a professor of Marketing at the School of Business Administration in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a visiting professor at Columbia Business School and IDC. He received his Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in a joint program with the School of Business Administration and the Racach Institute of Physics. His research focuses on creativity, new product development, diffusion of innovation, complexity in market dynamics and social networks effects.

JACOB GOLDENBERG Professor of Marketing, Visiting Professor, Columbia Business School

Yoni is a Partner at SIT and SVP Business Development. He has pioneered the strategic development of the SIT approach with multinationals helping them achieve breakthrough results while developing an organizational culture of innovation. He is also faculty at Columbia University Business School, teaching “Innovate on Demand” and “Design Your Innovation Blueprint” Executive Education courses. He holds a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Psychology and Sociology from Yeshiva University in New York, and an M.A. Magna Cum Laude in Social-Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Bar Ilan University in Israel.

INDUSTRY EXPERTS

Jenny Buck has taught at Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania in design thinking and product design. She worked in the 1990’s for the product design firms IDEO and Frogdesign, and later did a deep dive into neuroscience in the early 2000’s as the field was shining new light on understanding human interactions with the manmade world. Jenny holds a bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and a Masters in Engineering with a concentration in product design from Stanford University.

Eli Itin is Founder and Senior Innovation Consultant at Northern Star Innovation, a boutique consultancy specializing in the creation and management of organizational innovation. Eli advises managers and innovators on creating internal organizational innovation (intrapreneurship) via best practice innovation tools and methodologies, and manages the end-to-end ideation process (Challenge to Idea to Prototype). Eli has an MBA (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) from the IDC, Herzliya, as well as degrees in Law and Commerce from UNSW, Sydney, Australia.
