5.6 Industry Feedback
• Creavo Medical Technologies (Bob Roopra)
Suggestions:
1) It would be very good if the industry partners could get a hands-on session as part of the sponsorship to show the device working or a case study with a clinical lead who is using the system.
2) In many congresses of a similar size the leadership and faculty lead visit each of the stands, this has been very positive for projects the industry is interested in.
• ViroGates (Julio Ajenjo)
“Overall the Congress went very well. Well organized, the rooms were well signposted and the program well-
structured and easy to understand. The team was always friendly and helpful. Looking for some improvement
area the scanner worked well but I wish the information could be seen more quickly. The data did not tip directly,
and we had to request it several times. The last day we got to send us an Excel file with everything, but we would
have liked it to be faster.”

8.2 Coverage analysis
Acute Cardiovascular Care 2019 received very good media coverage, reaching major news outlets in both lay and
medical press across Europe, India and North America. With a total of 503 articles within a month, Acute 2019
received almost twice the coverage of Acute 2018 (278 articles).
One press release in particular provided outstanding results: “Women don’t call ambulances for themselves,”
thanks to its dissemination just a few days before International Women’s Day.

9. ACCA Congress 2019 – Delegates post congress survey
9.1 Introduction
The survey was sent to 737 delegates attendees (who opted in for email communication) to collect their
feedback. The objectives of the survey are:
• General feedback of congress organisation
• Specific feedback on: o Scientific programme o ACCA stand and Members o Funding and career involvement
This survey was sent out on March 4 at 14h, right at the end of the congress in order to reach the delegates before their return, to have a higher level of responses. The survey obtained a very high response rate of 32,15% for the overall audience. As a reference, the response rate for the previous post-congress survey in 2018 was 31,55%.

9.5 Delegate comments and recommendations
Delegates were given an opportunity to express their thoughts in an open-ended question.
Comments were grouped into the following categories:
Session related comments: 5
We noticed less comments on Sessions this year which is a good sign. Most of the comments are asking for more
interactive or hands-on sessions, as well as practical sessions and voting.
• “I did not participate to the working group (lung ultrasound and ECMO) because it was full 3 times. Also, an auditorium was full once. Working group should have MANY more sessions because this congress is attended by a lot of young doctors and we all went crazy for the working group, this point could be your strength for the future”
• “More hands-on sessions”
• "ask a question" in the APP wasn't used much in the sessions, while the panel was asking for questions from the audience. Group size of hands-on session was still too big for interactions. ECMO session was just another didactic lecture without real hands-on. More coverage on right heart failure, weaning from temporary MCS, would be very interesting
Congress organisation: 7
• “There was a lot of very interesting sessions happening at the same time while there was a lot of empty time where there were only posters”
• Some people had problems with the hands-on sessions. Instead of having registered in that hands-on the day before, and waiting on the queue, some of us could not attend it because other people without reservations went in.

• “There were few sessions to be a european congress and most of them were very introductory but without really new content. Hands-on should have at least a mannequin to do some ecmo-practical cases. Talking with other colleagues attending the congress, the scientific level has not been as expected and the fee is too expensive for the quality of the congress (it is as expensive as the general european congress and the scientific level, organisation... cannot be compared. It could sound like a very critical point of view, but I really love acute cardiac care and I think all of us together could do it much better.”
• “Increase the capacity of the classrooms sessions, especially hands-on.”
• Others are respectively: • “the meeting was really great, I learn a lot from the expert. thank you ACCA..!!I wish to have more interactive session
like ACCA stage, hands on about LUS and hemodynamic monitoring, how to session about Blood gas analysis, echo in critical care, non invasive ventilation for AHF, arrhythmia storm in CCU.”
• “Thank you very much for interesting Congress and good organisation!!! Good luck for next year!!”
• “I would suggest better catering (only water, fruit juice and coffee was not enough). And the restaurant was quite expensive.”
• “I was very disappointed with the cafeteria. It was a long day (8-17) and there was no chance to buy proper food, they only had buns. I also wish they would've had water available for everyone (the bottles were there only for little time). Otherwise the programme was great. I also heard other doctors saying how they had not eaten anything during the long day because they were not satisfied with the selection.”
9.6 Respondent profile
Please note that the figures mentioned here come from the delegates who clicked on the “take the survey”
button from the email sent but may not have fully completed / taken the survey
• The split of survey respondents is 63% female and 37% Male.
