A full course specific prospectus will be availablein the near future however we have published thisguide to outline the exciting range of courses andenrichment opportunities available to you.

Hyde Post 16 will combine state-of-the-artfacilities within a caring and supportive learningenvironment. You will be respected and treated asan adult and we expect you to take responsibilityfor your learning.

You will be based in the separate Post 16 Blockand will have access to all recreational facilitiesthat you would expect from a modern and forwardthinking centre. Between lessons you will be able torelax in the lounge area or work on projects in theindividual study areas.

A Levels are very traditional andacademic qualifications. They generallyprovide progression on to University butthey are also highly valued byemployers. You can study between fourand five subjects which will be assessedthrough examination.

Vocational qualifications provide a specialistroute that will develop your skills andunderstanding in your chosen vocationalarea. Although this is a full time courseequivalent to three A Levels, students canstudy one A Level alongside their coreprogramme of study.

This is a specialised route, highly valued byemployers. You will combine your time atcollege with work-placed experience andgain an accredited qualification in yourchosen area. Apprenticeships are nowbecoming more and more popular as thereis a high success rate for progression ontoemployment.
