Third Year Project

Site: Cerda Grid - Barcelona, Spain

Project Objective: Urban Tranquility is a housing complex which focuses on providing an effective urban landscape that allows for both public and private use. The green space provides useful circulation as well as relief from the urban city. The unique triangular shape of the units allows for easy connections of the units as well as many opportunities for light and views.

Second Year Project

Site: Tenleytown - Washington, DC

Project Objective: The Performing Arts Center focuses on creating an architectural experience based on the activity of the public through the exploration of spaces, views, and materiality. The project includes a theater, dance studios and a public lobby and cafe. The materiality of each program relates to the connection of movement + opacity and stasis + transparency.

Fourth Year Project

Site: Chinatown - Washington, DC

Project Objective: Shifting Plaza is a micro housing project that focuses on maximizing the amount of occupants without compromising outdoor and public spaces. The duplex housing units are shifted and interlocked with each other in order to increase density. The courtyard area serves as the main public space as well as the central source of light and ventilation to the units.

Third Year Project

Site: Gothic Quarter- Barcelona, Spain

Project Objective: Unifying Void is an urban infill project including four live/work units. Each unit wraps around the central void, maximizing ventilation and includes a private balcony space. The building has a small public outdoor space which creates a passage way between the front of the building and the side alley. The ground level also includes public gallery space and a cafe area.

Fourth Year Project

Project Objective: Folded Support is a coffee table designed to maximize both beauty and functionality. While the folding and interlocking construction of the table is aesthetically pleasing, it also provides the functional use of storage. The top of the table is a series of arranged square wood pieces that are set into place to create a textured surface.
