Message from the president

Introduction to the new EEB structure and the new EMSA European Board

December 2010

Dear reader,

Allow me to introduce You to the 2010-2011 international board of the European Medical Students’ Association, the EMSA European Board. And allow me to explain the structural changes that have recently been made...

A very special change is the implementation of DIA and DEA. DIA, the Department of Internal Affairs is a forum for the four pillars of EMSA. It is the birth place of ideas and projects. The very core of what we do and what we create. But since we cannot and should not achieve our goals alone, we cooperate with other organizations. And to ensure that the cooperation is both effective and fruitful, DIA is complemented by DEA – the Department of External Affairs.

If the DIA is the means through which we create, then the DEA is the forum through which our voice is heard and our ideas spread far... In the common structure they are joined together and work together. Together, but not alone! They are accompanied by the rest of the board... Our Human Resources, Funds Raising and Public Relations Officer. And naturally by our Executive Board, our navigator.

Each part of this structure is unique and has a special purpose. But only when put together do those parts make a whole bigger than the mere sum of its parts!Working as one, in the spirit of cooperation we create synergy. And with synergy we move ourselves and our ideals forward...

But a picture speaks a thousand words and so, let us move from text to graphics...

Sincerely,

Tin KneževićPresident of EMSA Europe 2010 / 2011Chairman of the EMSA European Board 2010 / 2011
