Kobonal Water Project

The parish appeal for the Kobonal Water Project, to build a well in rural

Haiti, concludes this weekend after having met and exceeded its goal of

$14,686. The parish has generously raised $16, 919 that will enable a

well to be developed in a small rural community in Haiti, providing

fresh, clean water for the residents. The goal was pushed over the top

through an anonymous donation matching the parish donations during

the last two weeks. Throughout this relatively short appeal parishioners

and friends have responded most generously. It is clear that parishioners

heard the message of “Laudato Si” the encyclical of Pope Francis on the

environment as well as the plight of the poor living in Haiti. Pope

Francis challenged all Christians to do all in our power to protect the God

given blessings of creation and to ensure that all are able to share those

blessings. Through Cross Catholic Outreach we learned of the need and

opportunity to put the Gospel in action by doing what we could to make

clean water available to the people of the Kobonal area of Haiti. Our

prayers accompany these funds as they are forwarded to Cross Catholic

for the people of Haiti.

ChristLife - Discovering Christ The ChristLife series “Discovering Christ” will be offered on Tuesday’s

November and is being made available for anyone that was unable to

attend the first course. Participation is free but reservations are necessary
