Did we?

As I looked outside the window

I saw a garden with the prowess of a meadow

Across its distance it came clear

 That an old couple lived in a house near

 They were out in the garden since the breaking of dawn

Holding hands while mowing the lawn

 They seemed happy; there is no denying that

 Their love was never-ending in present and past

Suddenly the woman burst into tears

She yelled at her man so he could hear

All her fears, hopes she had all along

She needed to tell them once more

id we live the life we dreamed!

id we laugh the way we should be!

id we cry when we felt pain!

"r when life called us, we missed its train!

 The man after hearing this became pale

He feared whether he had made any mistake

#ut to her words nothing he did say

His response was to smile her pain away
