B ehind every strong salesperson, every well-articulated sales pitch, and every sales close, there is David Odom. David Odom is Local Splash’s Sales Trainer, fully equipped with a positive attitude, wild enthusiasm, and dedicated motivation to share with his team. As the sensei of all young grasshoppers, Odom’s daily routine consists of training new hires to de- velop and generate sales leads for the company, monitoring them after being assigned to teams, and circling the sales floor while his team is on call, attuned to the questions they are being asked so he can assist more effectively. Since the age of nine, the Cincinnati-native de- veloped a strong passion for music. Odom was one of the first black Americans to ever be in the Cincinnati Youth Symphony, playing the violin and timpani. Through hard work, he landed a scholar- ship to the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. In the early 1980s, Odom moved to California to launch his career in music, where he served as a Music Director for Motown. “I would get the new acts that had a hit record and take them on their TV show tours, which included Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall, and then onto national and international tours.” When Odom stopped touring, he joined Pac Tel and several other cable companies, and then launched his own marketing business. He received calls from Small Business Association (SBA) to develop mar- keting strategies to assist companies to increase profitability. Odom continued his career in Marketing when he joined Local Splash as an Opener on the sales floor. Staying motivated, Odom then moved onto different roles including a “Hybrid” (opening and closing accounts) and then working with others brainstorming on projects for clients. Being a people-person and passionate about teaching, this work is effortless for Odom; he truly enjoys working with others. “When I see someone that comes into the class, that has never done this before, and becomes one of the top producers on the floor, it’s priceless! I get them when they look like a deer caught in the headlights and I turn them into lions; a beast on the phone,” Odom expressed with pleasure. The observance of Black History Month, Odom believes, is significant. He believes it is impor- tant to remember the contributions black Ameri- cans have made to the United States since it’s founding. Growing up with his father’s close guidance, Odom serves as a role model for his own daughter and grandson as to how to deal with the world of racism and the intolerance. When The Navigator asked if David could be any superhero in the world, Odom chose Dare- devil, a blind hero who could only judge people by their actions rather than appearances, and who coincidentally holds many of the same characteristics of Odom himself. Odom, who enjoys going to the beach and delighting in new restaurants, has met people from all walks of life who may look or appear different from what’s typical in society, but that have hearts of gold. He sincerely adds, how exceptionally fortunate it is to be able to work with them. Odom’s upbeat attitude, beautiful soul, and re- spectable character are reasons why his team has learned and grown immeasurably. These are only a few of the wondrous traits that make him enjoyable company and an asset to the Lo- cal Splash team.

Behind every strong salesperson, every well-articulated sales pitch, and every sales close, there is David Odom. David Odom is Local Splash’s Sales Trainer, fully

equipped with a positive attitude, wild enthusiasm, and dedicated motivation to share with his team. As the sensei of all young grasshoppers, Odom’s daily routine consists of training new hires to de-velop and generate sales leads for the company, monitoring them after being assigned to teams, and circling the sales floor while his team is on call, attuned to the questions they are being asked so he can assist more effectively.

The Program Management Office is a standing office through which projects are identified and prioritized. The PMO focus is to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to specifica-tions, following project management processes of Visualizing, Planning, Implementing, and Closing. Each of these steps has specific documentation associated with that step.

The PMO team works diligently to optimize company projects and provide organization and structure to projects undertaken by the company. As a product of the management offsite meeting, the PMO strives to improve the financial state of the company, provide coherent defined objectives consistent with business strategy and company vision, and to allow the management team to work more cohesively. To this objective, the PMO’s meets a minimum of once a week with members Laure Muller, Debra Northart, and John Sanders.
