Digital Arts Exploration
• Create original works of art using a variety of software, including Photoshop
• Explore graphic design, communication arts and digital media
• One semester course backs with Health
• Grade 9
Introduction to Art
• Beginning class for students• Experience a variety of art
styles• Drawing, painting, collage,
sculpture and printmaking• Grades 9 – 12• Meets UC/CSU “F”
requirement
Drawing
• Beginning drawing class• Pencil, colored pencil,
watercolor and pen and ink
• Art history included• Grades 9 – 12• Meets UC/CSU “F” requirement
Sculpture
• Prerequisite: Intro to Art recommended
• Concepts of sculpted form and space
• Various 3-D media• Variety of sculptural processes• Grades 10 – 12• Meets UC/CSU “F” requirement
Photography I
• Study the basic photographic process
• Become proficient in digital photography software
• Earn high school and Butte College credit
• Grades 11 – 12 (Grade 10 with teacher permission)
• Meets UC/CSU “F” requirement
Photography II
• Prerequisite: “C” grade in Photo I or teacher’s approval
• Advanced photo students• Focus on creation and
composition• Grades 11 – 12• Meets UC/CSU “F” requirement
Airbrush Painting
• Learn the fundamentals of drawing and color
• Learn airbrush techniques• Render paintings or stencil
original designs on surfaces• Grades 11 – 12• May be repeated for credit
Art Studio I
• First year of a 2-year program• Campus art and portfolio
development in a variety of media• Job shadows, field trips and guest
artists• Graphic design integrated with
technology, website development and e-portfolios
• Grade 11• Meets UC/CSU “F” requirement
Art Studio 2
Second year of a 2-year program Community art and portfolio development
in a variety of media Field trips, mentorships
and guest artists Graphic design integrated
with technology, website development and e-portfolio
Grade 12
AP Studio Art
• Create a portfolio of art concepts and techniques
